Police Computer and ELS V6 Problem

Hey guys. I have a bit of an annoying bug. When I engage a traffic stop, the Police Computer likes to screw with my ELS settings while typing in the name of the suspect pulled over. This is not really a problem, but it is very much annoying to have to reset the ELS settings to what you want because the Police computer changes them. I was just wondering if this was already fixed or going to be. I saw this same problem in a lot of 0.95 Preview clips but I thought it would have been fixed with the release of 0.95RC. Anyone know whats up? Many thanks to you guys.

Its not an issue with LCPDFR, LCPDFR Is meant to run on a vanilla (stock) Copy of gta iv, With out any other mods (It can, But G17 media from what I know doesn't support any other mods), So it really has nothing to do with LCPDFR, Nor from what Ive heard will they fix it Since they don't support any other mods, I suggest you go into your .ini file and change the key bindings to something else you will not use while typing onthe computer, Hope this helps, JAM.

Yeah, I figured this could be the issue to. People tend to think LCPD:FR is made as another Police Mod and they will all work together. Key bindings I did hear was a good solution to changing this. Thanks for the info Jam.

May be wrong but from experience seems to happen when you type "M" in the police comp. Which in turn opens up the ELS menu (even without using alt) then after that if you hit "i" or "U" it will mess up yoyr pattern selection. And that is likely as I and U are vowels :)

Try remapping the "M" that opens up ELS menu. In fact I will try that myself now I said it :)

I really need to remap the bloody siren too :p Which isn't a mod but is still effected by the police comp in a vanila copy.

You don't have to have the menu open whats so ever to have the keys enabled, The keys are always enabled until the mod its self or the keys are disabled.

Just tried it out and yeah when in comp even without menu open patern gets screwed. So yeah need to remap I and U at least.

So I was wrong about being able to just remap M

Maybe NicolaiB can share what it is he remaped :) though I suspect from his vids he remaped I U and G for the siren. And prob O and J and K as well.

Im getting a vengence h90 or something like that (keyboard) and it has some customizable keys, Im going to see if I can bind some in game mods to them (somehow).

good point. After this thread I changed the ELS ini and binded some keys includeing the patern changeing keys and the g for siren in ELS.

I placed them in obscure keys and then used my G15 keyboard to link those keys to easy and reachable programable keys.

In other words, for example. ELS G key is now the minus key on number pad changed in the ini. But also programed with G15 keyboard to be reachable with my left little finger on one of the programable keys.

Tried using a key to macro ALT + R for ped frisk to one to one single programe key as well but it don't seem to work. Maybe I need to add a small delay between key press in the macro.

A Macro for Alt + Y to turn off hazzard lights does work though. Need to mess about with it more.

I might see for a future release or perhaps the final if we can hook ELS and get it to ignore all keys whilst LCPDFR is showing the police computer. However, it's not guaranteed as that takes a lot of time.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

That would be fantastic. As ELS is prob' one of the most used mods alongside LCPDFR. But like you said, I do realise this all takes time and resources away from working on the core of LCPDFR which for obvious reasons always comes first before little fixs for third party stuff. Would be very cool though if it does come about :)
