ELSV8 Crashing GTA IV to Desktop

I recently upgraded to ELS V8 from ELS V7.  With ELS V8 installed, however, GTA IV crashes to desktop a few seconds after loading the in-game world.  The relevant scripthook excerpt is in the spoiler tag, and I've bold-faced what appears to be some sort of error.

I just started my game to test out ELS v8 with the GTA V Vapid Police (LCPD) I just finished, and my game also crashed...

My Scripthook gave the same report.

Quick update.  I reinstalled ELS V8 and re-did my .vcf files as well as removed a few plugins.  The game crashes after crossing a certain point; from the Broker Safehouse right before the Broker police station.  This scripthook log is different than the one in the OP.

Light patterns also don't seem to be working for me. You can hear the function sounds when you press the buttons, but nothing else occurs. :sad: 

Can anyone help us out?  :wacko:

 

EDIT: Mine is now working after removing xlive.dll and xlive_d.dll; however, I can no longer run my game without R* Social Club. I like running IV without Social Club so I can manage my save games.

 

EDIT2: After adding xlive.dll and xlive_d.dll back into the game and removing dsound.dll, it crashes upon starting any light pattern with ELS.

It's an honor to be stuck in the same, sinking boat as you, Murphy. xD

 

Curiously enough, for a single time I was able to play GTA IV and LCPDFR with no problems while ELSV8 was installed.  It was fantastic, might I add.  After I quit and restarted to see if this was an isolated incident, the game promptly crashed in the spot that it did previously; while driving right before passing the Broker police station. 

 

Here's my Advancedhook log for comparison.  The scripthook log no longer gives me the "VehStructInstance" error; only the more recent "thread instance is being deleted while still hooked" error.

As I mentioned in my edits (above), I was also able to finally get ELS v8 working (which is amazing); however, it crashes with xlive.dll. I'm hoping that there's some fix for this, because I really like having my savegames saved locally.

Congrats!  I don't use xlive.dll or its related files so I can't uninstall them to see if that works, ha.  When I get a chance I'll see if I have any luck with a fresh install. 

 

The one time that ELSV8 did work it was fantastic though.  The improved rotating lights and environment lighting really does make a difference, as does the ability to open doors and have vehicle damage.

As for the bugs I've had with xlive.dll, I finally got ELS v8 to be stable with the inclusion of dsound.dll, too. This may sound odd, considering xlive.dll and dsound.dll cause errors when together; however, I copied the Windows dsound.dll (C:/Windows/SysWOW64) and added it to GTA IV's main directory.

 

With its presence, ELS now works fine without any crashes because it is satisfied knowing that dsound.dll can be accessed!

 

You can also try this, if you want to save games locally to your computer. Keep in mind that this will disable multiplayer though (unforunately).

Your AH.dll is the wrong version - the right one would say "permission for LCPDFR and ELS only".

Interesting, thanks for letting me know. :)

I don't seem to have a problem with it anymore though, and I was (and still am) using the AdvancedHook provided with ELS v8.

I've solved my problem.  After a clean install it appears that you MUST use the scripthook, advancedhook, and dsound.dll included with ELSV8; the ones that come with LCPDFR are not compatible and will crash the game if used when ELS V8 is installed.
