Im very new to this forum and to LCPDFR.

Watching this mod on YT for months and decided to get my own. Got GTA4 installed now (plus patched on Windows8) so what steps are needed? Where to find the latest version of LCPDFR and what Ive to pay attention to in general? Btw I dig the Ford Crown Victoria police cruiser on GTA5, is it included?

And no, the Vapid Stanier Police Interceptor (NOT CVPI) is not included. Car mods can be found in the downloads section. Be sure to read the readmes at all time :)

Ok mod has got installed, should I launch it or get the "ELS" before as well?

ELS (Emergency Lighting System) is a separate mod which will only work on ELS enabled vehicles. If you have no ELS enabled vehicles, you don't need it. 

LCPDFR and ELS are 2 seperate things. You will need ELS enabled cars for ELS. 

Ok, so it`s only for cutomize sirens and lights,right?

Yeah. It will probably make your game unstable too, just so you are aware of that right off the bat. 

Ok. Got problems right now. GTA4 won`t start at all:

 

"Exception EFCreateError in module DSOUND.dll at 000116C5. Cannot create file "C:Program Files (x86)Rockstar GamesGrand Theft Autoasilog.txt". Access Denied"

 

What to do now?

You will need to launch GTA IV as administrator. Also, have you bought the game?

edit:

Yes bought a dvd copy which is already registrated on win live.

Well, game is running fine but no option to activate the mod. On "how to" vids on YT there are police station symbols on the map...cant find any of them on mine.

mod doesnt start as said :)

You need to press Alt+P.

Please read the manual, as the entire mod is explained in detail there.
