Hi guys,

I installed LCPDFR 1.0 and when I wanted to start GTA 4 after the social club sign on it says GTA 4 has stopped working. I then uninstalled LCPDFR and it works without it installed.  Any Ideas what it could be?

The only mods that I have installed are ELS, Police Helper, IVDashcam (and LCPDFR).

My GTA is not an Illegal copy (Steam). I have got .95 to work, but when I start GTA with 1.0 it crashes right after social club.

You've got a conflict somewhere causing the crash probably.

 

I recommend you clean out your GTA IV directory entirely and reinstall GTA IV, make a clean backup.

When you have done that, go ahead and install LCPDFR 1.0b only and see if it works.

When you reinstall GTA IV, copy the entire directory (no mods) and put it in a .zip compressed archive. That way you have a clean backup of GTA IV. If you mod something and it goes wrong (like a vehicle model) you can simply go into your .zip, find the file and copy it across to your actual GTA IV folder. It saves you uninstalling, wiping it all and then reinstalling.

Thanks for that advice that'll save me much time   . I'll let you know what happens once it's done downloading.

Strange, post a screenshot of your GTA IV directory again for me (now that you have done a clean reinstall) And can you also upload your log files.

 

asilog.txt, AdvancedHook.log, AdvancedHookInit.log, Scripthook.log, Scripthookdotnet.log and LCPDFR.log.

Thanks for all the help so far :) . Now I did a complete reinstall and I figured out that when I install LCPDFR and it puts the dsound.dll in the GTA Directory it doesn't work, but when I delete the dsound.dll from the directory it works... I don't have the xlive thing in my directory either, am I doing something wrong?

No problem at all, you need either dsound.dll or xlive.dll. So try seeing if having xlive.dll only makes it work, if so it's the dsound.dll causing you problems.

I tried using just xlive.dll , still wouldn't start  . I don't know why GTA doesn't want to start if xlive.dll or dsound.dll is in the directory..

Hmm, have you checked to see you definitely have the latest version of directx installed?

Yes I have, When I open the installer it says, ''the same or newer version of DirectX has been installed'' . I don't know what to do anymore, why does GTA crash when dsound or xlive is in the folder?

Right ok, are you running the game as administrator, with read/write privileges to the directory? If so post all of your log files that you have in your directory to here and I will see if there is anything being caught that is crashing.

Yeah your scripthookdotnet.asi isn't being loaded, otherwise it would have a log file.

You might be missing DirectX so go and download and install that and try again.
