Installation errors: can't find dll file

Featured Replies

(This is not mca0004 here, this is his dad, who's trying to install the mod).

I've installed the mod in the correct folder, and downloaded and installed all the necessary MS tools (.NET, C++ etc).  However, when I run the diagnostic tool, I'm told:

"Installation corrupted - LCPD First Response.dll missing".  However, it's there all right,  since I copied the entire LCPD tree into the EFLC folder of our installation of GTA IV.

I'm sorry if this is a particularly stupid question, but I'm not a gamer myself, and as a diehard linux user, I find the management of windows libraries very confusing.

Anyway - any help would be most gratefully received, by me and my son!

Thanks,

Al

the old version of the diagnostic tool does not work with LCPDFR 1.0.

I suggest that you do an clean install of EFLC, then install the LCPDFR 1.0b Automatic Install. if you still get problems then attach the following

  • LCPDFR.log
  • AdvancedHook.log

This was a fresh re-install of LCPDFR on top of a fresh re-install of GTA IV.  In each case the old one was wiped, and a new version downloaded and installed.

I did a manual installation - where do I find the LCPDFR.log file?  Here's AdvancedHook.log:

I've just a fresh re-install of LPPDFR using the automatic loader: same error.  If I run the diagnostic tool  without checking the game folder, I just get "Critical error 0x1".

Thanks for your help!

Hi, the critical error 0x1 is an easy fix, when you run the diagnostics tool click the "Advanced mode" checkbox in the bottom left corner, and then get it to verify your installation.
