Cannot pull over random cars (got some new info)

Featured Replies

UPDATE 3/30/2014:
When I start the game once, I start the LCPDFR script by pressing ALT+P, the mod starts and I can then drive to a police station or simply type "forceduty" in the console. My issue has been that I still could not pull over random vehicles.
THE FIX: After doing what I wrote above, in the console type "reloadscripts". Then do what I wrote above again for the 2nd time. I am now able to pull random people over and everything seems to work a lot better and not crash as much either.

END UPDATE

As you will see in the video above. As soon as I get in my patrol car and try to pull over a random vehicle, they attempt to stop but then take off again. This will happen over and over and over no matter how many different cars I try to pull over. I noticed something new that you will also see in the video above. While I was attempting to randomly pull over a car, they decided to flee. The red arrow then went over their car so I knew that the "flee" script in LCPDFR was running. I then called for backup and I ended up catching and shooting the person. The script ended successfully.

After that, I decided to try and pull over a random vehicle and it actually worked. I then pulled over another one and it worked.

Whatever the bug is, it stays that way until someone you're trying to pull over tries to flee. After that event, you are then able to pull over any car you want which is how this should always work.

Can some of you verify that you are having the same problems? I've tried this on 2 different computers with compeltely different hardware and at 2 seperate locations. They both do it exactly as I described above.

My game version is fully updated and is EFLC. The 2nd PC I verified this bug on had a fresh install of the game and the lcpdfr mod. Nothing else.

Checked to verify, worked straight away for me on a fresh install of LCPDFR to EFLC (BoGT).

I did notice one refuse to stop entirely rather than stop and then go again. But cancelling the traffic stop and recalling it on the same vehicle worked fine.

Seemed to be an issue with pulling over on the road I was on as to why he never stopped.

Check to make sure you have no other script mods working with it, and that you definitely don't have a conflicting version of LCPDFR active at the same time (such as 1.0a and 1.0b)

Did you respond to any calls before trying to pull someone over? I do not know why I am having this problem. I also am using EFLC (BoGT). I have no mods at all other than the LCPDFR of course. I am using stock vehicles and everything. I installed the game, updated the game, installed lcpffr 1.0b and started a multiplayer free4all game by myself.

Version RC2 of lcpdfr used to work fine. I could pull over anyone for any reason. Ever since lcpdfr 1.0, I noticed this issue. I remember that is also was present in 1.0a and the only way I could pull over a random car was if I got in a chase with one that was running from me and then after that I could pull over other cars.

One thing I will add is that I have Visual Studio 2012, SQL, etc installed on both of my PCs that I tested this on since I do some programming at my job. I am going to install it on another windows 7 machine that does not have these things installed and see what happens.

Anyone else out there able to test this?

Having a programming IDE and a database language shouldn't affect it cause I have them both too :P

When I tested it, I jumped straight into the traffic stops the second I started. Maybe try on single player rather than multiplayer as multiplayer is buggy enough as it is. I used single player, but then I use xlive.dll because I never play online with GTA IV. Too many mods :)

I'll run some more tests tonight and tomorrow, it may be a genuine bug or it may just be a problem you're having.

FYI, I just installed it on a 3rd PC that is basically a pretty bare Windows 7 install. Same exact thing as I first described.

I just tested again, 10 traffic stops, all pulled over fine, in fact the algorithm for determining which side of the road to pull over to seems to be even better than before.

Only one traffic stop led to the driver fleeing and that was the scripted fleeing. (I think it was the 6th or 7th traffic stop)

Around the 3rd or 4th, a driver pulled a gun and attempted to kill me.

I'm therefore not entirely sure why it is that you are having this problem. It leads me to think it is down to the area you are patrolling and attempting traffic stops in, move to an entirely different area and run a few traffic stops then and see what happens perhaps?

If you have Fraps, can you please record the video and upload it to youtube so I can see it. I just find it hard to believe that on 3 different PCs, I am having the same exact problem.

As requested.

NOTE: The fade out/in parts were only used to skip me going through the entire traffic stop menu options, scanning ID in the computer and transporting people to the police station. I didn't omit anything else.

There is also about 20 seconds of black screen at the end because I forgot to reduce the slider in vegas. There really is nothing there lol.

You mentioned that you normally play single player. Are you still starting a multiplayer game but by yourself or are you actually starting with the campaign?

Single player still because I use xlive.dll

I never play multiplayer due to the bugs.
