Hey guys, did a fresh install, but i am still having the exact same problem. nothing has changed.

Anybody??

Briceuk,

If you right click on the GTAIV.exe and the LaunchGTA.exe files, you will see a tab called "Compatibility"

Go to that and check that the game is not running in any compatibility mode (uncheck the first box) and try again.

While you are there you should also disable "read-only" mode just to make sure that it is definitely nothing conflicting there, and set it to always run as an administrator.

no boxes were checked and read-only was disabled plus running as administrator, but still DEP

Ok, just for giggles, try running the game in compatibility mode for windows xp service pack 3. It might have a little bit to shout about that.

My best advice to you though, is to get windows 7 lol.

I'm afraid I don't know how else to fix your problem then. Having never got the DEP issue it's kind of hard to fix it without googling it, which I am sure you're more than capable of.

Hopefully you find a solution so that you can play 1.0b. Or maybe a later release will fix the issue.

Good luck to you, I'm sorry I cannot help you any further with this issue :(
