ELS v7 ctrl + M not responding

Featured Replies

I'm running an ASUS q550 with GEFORCE 745m graphics card

So I've managed to do the impossible and get GTA IV working with LCPDFR exactly the way I want it to. Well, not exactly.

I got ELS v7 to accompany the custom vehicles I downloaded, and I've encountered a problem that baffles me to say the very least. The problem is that ctrl + M does not bring up the ELS menu. It allows me to use the "J" key to initiate the ELS lights, and I can switch between siren noises aswell. Thats it.

I've tried to reinstall ELS, i've tried reinstalling LCPDFR, and yet it does not bring up the menu, and I have no idea why.

I've looked through forums and browsed the website, and its either people need answers with getting it to work period, or modifying it, nothing about having an issue when only part of the mod works. I would appriciate any help, and would be willing to provide screenshots of anything that would help me end my frustrations.

^ It can't be that since he can use the other keys....

Wasn't it Alt + M? I may be wrong but try :)

I've tried ALT + M, CTRL + M, BACKSPACE + M

Still nothing. The only two mods I have is LCPDFR, and ELS. No trainers or anything like that.

Have you re-mapped ANY keys at all? If you have, find what your Express Mode key is, and then hold Ctrl and press it. If you have NOT, press Ctrl-Backspace.

Does anything about Express Mode being enabled come up?

If so, make sure that LocationDisplay is set to "oninanycar". MAke sure ELS is enabled for the car you're using - this can be checked easily by pressing T or Y and listening for a siren or electric airhorn. You may also have a key conflict, try remapping Toggle_InfoPanel.

If not, ELS may not be installed or you may have a keybind conflict with your ComboKey (default Ctrl). Try rebinding both the ComboKey and FunctionKey and see if it works then.

If you can see what I've already said above, all of the keys for ELS work properly. I can use the "T" key, and the "J" key to activate the lights/sirens, but CTRL  + M does not bring up the ELS control box. All of my keys are proberly mapped to my liking, and I've even double checked the key bindings for both ELS and LCPDFR. The only thing I changed was changing the CNTL + M key in lcpdfr to call an ambulence, because it conflicts with ELS

The purpose of that post was to see what key was interfering. For me, it was the Function and Combo keys. I'd recommend at the very least skimming through it.

One last try, Press Ctrl then M as two separate things.

I've tried that as well. I've also tried holding it down

That actually worked. I remapped my combo key to Page Up, so when I press Page up + M it now shows the panel. Thank you very much.
