Need Help Installing LCPDFR 1.0b

Featured Replies

Hello, I'm trying to install LCPDFR 1.0b for Grand Theft Auto IV.  I've never downloaded LCPDFR in the past, and I can't seem to get it to work.  I've gone through the download and installation process (a couple of times, in fact), and I still can't seem to get it to work.

I just recently bought GTA IV for PC, and have only done about two missions (as I've already completed the game on another console, so I'm not really looking to beat the game again).  I just plan on using the PC version for this mod.  All suggestions and/or help is welcome.

Thank You.

Hi,

Have you tried using the diagnostics tool inside the LCPDFR folder? If you get it to check your installation it will pull up any problems you might have.

Had to install LCPDFR again.  I pull up diagnostics, and when I check installation I get an error code: 0x1.

I should mention that GTA IV runs perfectly fine, it's just getting the mod to work that is proving to be an issue.

Yep, common issue right there.

You need to run the diagnostics tool, click the "Advanced Mode" in the bottom left corner and then click check installation. When you've done that you will have to browse for your GTA IV folder.

Run a check on it and it should tell you what to fix.

OK.  I checked the installation, and here's what I've found.

Asi loader - No asi loader found - progress bar completely red/orange.

ScriptHookDotNet - ScriptHookDotNet.asi not found - progress bar halfway red/orange.

System dependencies - C++ Redist 2012 not found - MVSC - progress bar blank.

LCPD First Response - Installation corrupted - progress bar blank.

Log Check - Checking log files - progress bar completely green.

Any other advice you could lend.  Sorry, I'm not very tech savvy.

Take a screenshot of your GTA IV directory and upload it here for me to look at please. You're getting far more errors than you should be.

(Please note my next reply may not be for several hours as it is 11pm in the UK, I need to sleep, I will reply as soon as I am awake again though)

I'm aware of that.  I've checked, and some of these are showing up for me in the LCPDFR folder, saying I've already got them.

I'll get a screenshot up for you soon.

And no problem.  Take your time, I'm in no rush.

OK, since I'm having difficulties uploading (and in fact taking) a screenshot (as I said, not tech savvy), I hope this works.

Not sure if there's anything you can do with that information.  Or just inform me how to take a screenshot, and upload it to here.

Hello,

the subfolder "LCPD First Response" is not required. Please move all files from there directly into the game root (where the GTAIV.exe is).

Alright, everything that was under LCPDFR's folder, is now under the GTAIV Folder.  When I check installation, everything shown is now green, except for System Dependencies.  Do I need to download this? Loaded up game and, got a message in the top left-hand corner.  Error in LCPDFR_Loader.Loader'!  Or something similar.

Thanks.

Same issue here, anyone got a fix?

When running the diagnostics tool just choose "Find solutions" after the check and then double click the failed component to get advice on what to do. It will give you the download link.

Alright.  It's going to be a few hours before I can download that and check to see if it's working, but I will report back here if I'm having any further issues.  Thanks for your help thus far.

OK.  Everything that needed to be downloaded has been downloaded.  The diagnostics tool is saying everything is successfully installed.

When I run the game, I get about 10 seconds through the final loading screen before crashing.  I've noticed that the first loading screen saying "Grand Theft Auto IV" (the one before the screen saying whether you want to play the game or quit) goes by very quickly, usually 1 to 2 seconds.  I took slightly longer when running normally.

And suggestions on what might be happening?  Again, everything is downloaded and installed properly (or so the diagnostics tool tells me).

When I remove AdvancedHookInit.asi, the first loading screen returns to normal loading length.  I get to the black loading screen that says Loading...(Mission Name) before crashing to desktop.

How do I attach ScriptHookDotNet.log and LCPDFR.log?

Again, not sure if this helps you at all.  As stated before, I'm not tech smart.

And again, any help is appreciated.
