This is me playing LCPDFR 1.0 with the a version hotfix.

I crash about every 15 minutes so I just kinda quit playing GTA altogether lol.

And to answer quick questions:

-Yes im using vanilla GTA no mods, original files from steam verified.

-Yes my computer can run GTA IV

-Yes I've been modding GTA for about 6 months now and have tried everything so I just gave up cuz toolongdidntmod

In short story I posted a thread a while asking why version RC2 .95 has a label on it that tells people to download 1.0 since it was the only version I could play without crashing with mods.

A mod closed my thread and basically said "lulnope u cant remove the label banner".

So now I can't take screenshots on RC2 without an annoying label telling me to download 1.0 which let's face it, was a little overhyped compared to what it brought to the tabel.

Hello, as far as I can see your question was answered. There is no bug with the label, because there is a new version available for download. Your question about whether it can be removed was also answered: No, there is no way to do this.

About LCPDFR 1.0, I found it to be what it was advertised. It’s a great modification that modifies the game beyond the original intention with the ScriptHook which is nothing short of amazing. It’s not that many people who are working on the modification, and when they do, they do so for free in their own spare time. Bugs are to be expected, they have even stated so themselves in the user manual;

LCPDFR heavily modifies the game far beyond its original purpose or scope. As such, it can conflict with the game

and cause occasional failures and errors. Such errors will not have any lasting effect on the modification or the

game, however they may result in crashes, freezes or the current session becoming unplayable.

I’m not really sure what the point of this thread is. You can provide suggestions for improvment, instead of showing a cutscene ped (which normally doesn’t spawn, or is a easter egg as far as I know). That's just my suggestion though.

If you need help with crashes, I'll gladly do my best to help you in the support section.

Also, you can still take screenshots if you are using clip-capture I think

The label is hard coded into LCPDFR itself, so unfortunately there is no way to remove it. You could try forcing duty as that removes the LCPDFR text, so it might remove the new version text too, but I could be wrong as I haven't tried it.

In all honesty, what was the point of this thread though? To complain about how LCPDFR crashes every 15 minutes? LCPDFR has come a long way since the first version, I know it's frustrating but you could at-least try and put up with the crashes instead of complaining about it to the world on a public forum. I fail to see how a productive discussion can come of this, but feel free to prove me wrong.

So you're complaining about a free modification on a free website, that was only coded by two people in their spare time?

Regarding your previous thread, I replied with a detailed post about 1.0 and the banner, not a simple "lulnope." If you have any issues or questions about how a moderator does something, you have every right to PM us, but these should not be discussed in public. It's encouraged that you PM us.

Some people can play for hours straight, and some can only play for a few minutes. Unfortunately, you happen to be in the latter group and there's nothing we can do about it. I'm truly sorry that you're having problems with this modification, but there's not much we can do and you shouldn't expect miracles when two (albeit very talented) scripters work with a very poorly optimized game (GTA IV) in their free time.

As ineseri said, if you want to see if you can fix your crashes, people would be more than happy to help you in the lcpdfr support forum.
