LCPDFR 1.0a crashes all the time, but during different events.

Hey everyone, this is my first time posting here but I have been lurking here for about a year but I've finally gotten to the point where I just need to ask for help. Go easy on me. lol

So this crash happened after I put a suspect in the back of my polpatriot and was driving to the station and in the middle of taking a corner there was a stuttered frame and then the game crashed.

This is my LCPDFR log file

2014-02-09 00:41:27 - CRASH!

The few times before this I was playing, the AI cops have been acting weird. Example, there was a pursuit and I drove by 5 cops and non of them even budged. I have been battling the taxis all day today and am still working on a fix that doesn't cause the game to start losing textures and crash so any help there would also be appreciated.

Now for my specs:

CPU: 3770K @ 4.5Ghz

RAM 16GB (2x8GB) 1866Mhz G.Skill

GPU: EVGA GTX 780 3GB pushing 3 Acer monitors @ 6160x1080 w/ bezel correction

Mobo: ASRock Extreme6

HDD that GTA is on is a 1TB WD Green drive

The game is legal, I bought it through Steam. I ran it as administrator when this crash occured, I have no special launch settings, and I am only running LCPDFR 1.0a and ELSv7 at the moment.

Any help is greatly appreciated :)

Thanks guys!

    That's kind of what I'm waiting for, because they throw the same quick fixes at us every time but I have gone through practically every fix on the forum and I can still replicate the same freval error

    Yeah I wouldn't worry about any of the latter here.  These guys are giving us this mod out of their own 'goodness of heart' and EA ha$ their own reason$ that we all know about.  I have full confidence

Hello, I see you have the freval error. The freval error was fixed for some users by doing this: Open up your LCPDFR.ini, look under "Main", it should look something like this by default:

[Main]
AdditionalCopCarModels=
SuspectTransporterModels=POLICE;POLICE2;PSTOCKADE;
VehicleTrunkWeapons=Shotgun_Baretta;
AllTextMode=False
AmbientScenariosMaximum=2
AmbientScenariosMultiplier=250
DepartmentName=Liberty City Police Department
DepartmentShortName=LCPD
FirstStart=True
UsingPoliceStationMod=False

Now, add to the bottom of that part

PreloadAllModels=True
The "Main" part should now look like this:

[Main]
AdditionalCopCarModels=
SuspectTransporterModels=POLICE;POLICE2;PSTOCKADE;
VehicleTrunkWeapons=Shotgun_Baretta;
AllTextMode=False
AmbientScenariosMaximum=2
AmbientScenariosMultiplier=250
DepartmentName=Liberty City Police Department
DepartmentShortName=LCPD
FirstStart=True
UsingPoliceStationMod=False
PreloadAllModels=True

I have already done this and I know it is working because it throws a warning in the console saying that it can cause taxis to be everywhere, which they are...

I seem to get this error almost every time the game crashes

If you're getting the taxi bug, you can use this mod ('?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>>)

Also, keep in mind that LCPDFR does not support third-party modifications, so crashes are to be expected when using these.

Traffic flow was exactly what I was trying to avoid because it made my game crash faster than I could accept. Without the preloadobjects thing the taxis weren't a problem because I modded the popcycle.DAT. With traffic flow textures would start dissapearing / having to load for a second so trying to avoid that at all costs, but this still doesn't solve the crashing, just adding more mods to help it crash. Suggestions?

I can tell you that the taxibug is indirectly caused by the PreloadAllModels setting, but directly caused by your modded ELS vehicles. They are usually the cause for such a bug. Now, you have a great system so I have 2 suggestions, laid out below.

1

Try to create a file called commandline.txt in your root GTA IV directory and enter the following lines:

-novblank -norestrictions -percentvidmem 100 -novsync -frameLimit 0 -nomemrestrict

This should free some memory for you to use within your game, and hopefully stop the taxi-bug.

2

Try to use the game without the modded cars, and see if that does a difference. Simply copy your vehicles.img to a safe place, and replace it with the backup you made previous to installing the car mods.

Let me know how that goes.

2014-02-09 02:42:13 - CRASH!

Looks like a boolean exception was thrown according to the SCdotnet log, and the scripthook threw an entirely different error this time.
The crash error looks like it came from an unhandled exception called "GTA.NonExistingObjectException" and my guess is that this happens when the suspect had a vehicle at one point, but got out and their status which would be tied to the vehicle, assuming, never changed when they got out so the game got confused..

The crash came as i was driving away after a pursuit, the cops were coming to pick the guy up at the time, my partner was staring at a dead body after I killed one of them (bug) and then crash. No warning at all.

I see. I'm not that much of a expert of the LCPDFR engine, I'll leave that to LMS if he sees this.

Did you try the second suggestion?

You know I actualy played quite a bit before installing ELSv7 and the new cars (basically a cleanly installed game with only LCPDFR) and I hionestly dont recall the results. I know I was having a hell of a time with the game crashing due to the known bugs such as trying to enter the police station before applying the 1.0a hotfix, asking a suspect to exit the vehicle, and the such, but nothing too major. I know it had crashed a few times but I dont remember any specifics. Sorry :(

I guess I could try, so you want me to just switch the vehicles.img and that's it? will that cause the police vehicles to have a ELS heart attack? lol and I used the automatic installer because I was lazy.. should I have used the manual?

You'll have to remove ELS temporarily, just move the ELS files to another directory for a while.

The manual installer has proven to be more stable, and there is a detailed guide in the download folder. Give it a try :)

Ill have to give the manual install a go, because I just got the famous SMPA60 fatal error so i think its safe to assume its probably something to do with the install of the mods on my end, but I will go ahead and wipe everything, redownload it, and give it another go :)

Ah, that is also a solution. Best of luck! :)

Thank you for all of your help! and hopefully LMS will see the errors above and be able to diagnose if those are in fact lcpdfr errors yet to be fixed or if its my bad in my end. Either way, it will all be resolved eventually, it will just take time. :)

Hello,

from what I can see, while putting a suspect in the transporter, the transporter vehicle is being deleted, which is not caused by LCPDFR since it requires the vehicle to exist. Do you have any third party mods that may delete (police) vehicles?

No i don't actually. My mods include LCPDFR and ELSv7. and actually this makes sence because for whatever reason, sometimes the blue circle on the map shows up that they are coming to get the suspect, but then it dissapears, and it takes me calling them like 5 times until the pstockade shows up to get him.. Not sure if this is casued by maybe a memory leak or what, but I am doing another fresh install with a manual install of LCPDFR this time.

Okay, could you try disabling ELS just for the moment though? Actually, when using no other mods, the vehicles should stay in memory forever and shouldn't be deleted.
