GFWL / Internet issue

Featured Replies

Hi,

Recently, my games for windows live has been playing up. When I'm on the play screen, it detects "Local Area Connection 2".

GTAIV_2014_01_18_10_20_51_72.jpg

Then when I get into the game itself, I get this:

GTAIV_2014_01_18_10_22_29_97.jpg

Half the time, I can't get into multiplayer. Sometimes what happens is I'm in the lobby getting around 60 fps, GFWL will randomly disconnect me because my computer was running too slowly. I know for a fact it wasn't as I didn't notice any lag and the FPS counter was around 60. I have reinstalled my game, live, created a new account and still no luck. If you guys know what the issue is, it would be greatly appreciated if you could help.

Thank You

Ford

Do as ineseri has stated above and disable any redundant network connections, you're connected to LAN 2 which to me immediately says something is using LAN 1. (that's how microsoft default names network connections)

When you've done that test it and see.

If the problem persists go into the Device Manager and locate your network adapter, copy the model name of it and head to the manufacturers website, download the latest drivers and install them, then test again.

DON'T let microsoft auto detect the drivers version, go to the website yourself and get the latest. Microsoft has a habit of not being able to detect them all the time.

If that doesn't work, find your router and pull the power plug out for 30 seconds, then plug it back it. This forces it to do a manual reboot. This helps because it clears the router's cache of all the stored data packets it doesn't need. (generally it is recommended to do this every couple of months, as build up of data slows the device down a little bit)

Let us know if you manage to fix the problem :)
