When I add a police vehicle to a non-police slot in multiplayer only the lights work, not the siren. Would there be any way of also getting the sirens to work.

I don't think it will work (i could be wrong) the sirens were only made for emergency vehicles, so there is no connection or link from the police siren to a civilian car.

 

It's just how the game was made, You might be able to change it through mods/ hacks or changing the game files, But i doubt that's possible

Which version of ELS are you using? I know for a fact in 7 you can have a vehicle with siren that is not in a police/fire slot. I have my fire chief vehicle in feroci2 slot and lights and sirens work just fine....nobody moves out of the way though...

This^ The ELS siren will work on any car IIRC, but LCPDFR + the actual siren won't work (i.e people won't move out of the way).

I know it works in singleplayer. That's not what I am talking about. I'm talking about in multiplayer.

Okay. So the siren doesn't work? And you want to use the siren? Are you hosting, or joining a game? Because I think that the ELS siren won't carry over if you are joining a game, not 100% sure though.

It doesn't matter AT ALL. I've had enough experience with IV to know that it doesn't matter. To answer your question, however. Most of the time I am hosting a game. It doesn't work either way.

Okay thank you :) I'm pretty sure that the ELS siren works.. So if it does not, I have sadly no idea.
