Lcpd:fr not loading / crashing on loading screen

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, have been using 0.95 for a while and now trying to load 1.0

I have un-installed and re-installed GTA4 then manually installed 1.0, now the game crashes on the character loading screen.

I have updated the patch to 1.0.7.0, tried manually installing the 1.0 taser and lots of other suggestions on the site.

Any help would be great

Many Thanks

Okay, so none of those files are in the directory? Just uninstalling GTA IV doesn't remove scripts.

Chances are that you have some left-over save files and these files can cause some problems.

The save files are located in 2 different places.

X:Users%username%AppDataLocalRockstar GamesGTA IVsavegames
X:Users%username%DocumentsRockstar GamesGTA IVsavegames

Note: The AppData-folder is usually hidden, make sure that you can see hidden files.

Note 2: “X” is the drive where you have installed GTA IV, and %username% is replaced by your username

Try to move/remove them and try the game again. Also make sure that you are running both executables as administrator by going to the GTA IV folder, right click on GTAIV.exe -> Properties -> Compatibility and select 'Run this program as administrator'. Do the same exact thing to the LaunchGTAIV.exe.

Thank you for the advice

I will double check the save files now, I manually removed the scripts after the main uninstall, just to be on the safe side!

No none of the 0.95RC2 files were left in the directory.

Your logfile says:

[ERROR - 1:35:55 PM] [] System.BadImageFormatException: Could not load file or assembly 'AdvancedHook.dll' or one of its dependencies. Invalid access to memory location. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800703E6)
File name: 'AdvancedHook.dll'

   at freval_187..ctor()

   at LCPD_First_Response.Engine.Main.fr3()

Could I see a screenshot of your GTA IV directory before you uninstall again?

Seems to have fixed the problem, i am getting the memory error when exiting, but remember reading something on the pinned support for a fix for that.

I completely un-installed everything, re-installed GTA patched to 1.0.7.0 then installed lcpd:fr making sure all the files were installed to the x86 directory.

Thanks again for your help!
