Issues Loading GTA IV

Featured Replies

So I screwed up big time and I know what I did the problem is, however, I can't figure out how to recover from it.

I was playing the LCPDFR mod through GTA IV yesterday when the game's weather was rainy.  I hate driving a regular car around the game in the rain so I went to Niko's safehouse and saved there.  Well, it was not until after I quit out of the game that I realized my mistake (almost instantly).  Now, whenever I go to try and load the game up, it crashes after the music fades out because I had the mod started when I saved last and it's loading up from there.

I tried downloading a save file from the web and putting it into the save folder in the DocumentsRockstar GamesGTAIVsavegames directory but it still crashes at the same point.  I tried uninstalling the game and re-installing it..but it still didn't work.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

The save files are located in 2 different places.

X:Users%username%AppDataLocalRockstar GamesGTA IVsavegames
X:Users%username%DocumentsRockstar GamesGTA IVsavegames

Note: The AppData-folder is usually hidden, make sure that you can see hidden files.

Note 2: “X” is the drive where you have installed GTA IV, and %username% is replaced by your username
