EFLC Steam Does Not Start Up

Featured Replies

Hello. I have recently received a new computer and I thought, "Hey, I can finally play GTA again!" only to find out, it doesn't even start up. I installed EFLC on Steam earlier today, and was very excited. The game went through the first "start-up" processes (DirectX, etc.), and then brought up the Social Club Menu. I clicked "play offline", clicked okay, and then the game didn't start. Nothing. Not a pop-up from the game, absolutely nothing. I am disappointed, and I don't know why this is happening. I have looked all over Google, and nothing helped. I have tried running as administrator, running via Steam, putting it in compatibility mode for Windows 7 as I have Windows 8, but nothing works. I was wondering if someone knew a fix around this. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

-I have Windows 8 (mentioned above)

-Steam edition of EFLC

After you clicked the Play Offline button on Social Club, does the EFLC game show up in your Task Manager?

You can check this by clicking Ctrl + Alt + Delete, and starting up your task manager. It should be a button to start up task manager after you click those keys.. I'm not exactly sure how it is on Windows 8, though.

After it starts up, click on the Processes tab at the very top. Does EFLC show up at all in that list?

No, there is no process related to GTA IV and/or EFLC after I click the Okay button to start the game. The only thing that shows up that is related to this is the Steam tab, but that's always there because I usually have Steam up when I am using the computer.

Okay, have you tried starting EFLC out from the program files instead of using Steam to start it?

You can do that in these directories: Program Files > Steam > Common > Episodes from Liberty City > EFLC > LaunchEFLC
