Durango Wheels: What do rims suck?

Recommended Posts

So I recently uploaded my version of the Durango SSV with Charger wheels since I saw one with the EXACT SAME SETUP. And people are hating on it saying change the wheels, it's not an SSV. But those "SSV" wheels are UAF.

So I have the same truck here with 3 different options for wheels, Default, Charger and GTA IV Default Police. You decide which is best looking. Personally, I HATE the default wheels and think that they are ferociously out of place on ANY law enforcement vehicle. What do you think?

I'd have to go with the Charger rims. But they're not correct, nor are any of the others. Also, it wasn't hate. It was criticism and advice.

It's not criticism when the same image gets 3 facepalms in a day. So far almost everyone (EXCEPTION BEING hilth0 and Master Yoda) have been DICKS about it. Nobody else. I just don't understand why they hate on the wheels so much?

(Third damn typo in an hour. Can't I do anything right?)

I think you did a GREAT job on the Durango SSV. Just bc its not what they would have made, they have something bad to say, or room to give negative criticism and feedback. I dont even use non ELS models, but this one is very nice so i had to give it a try. And personally i think the charger wheels make the model look so much more like a police unit. So for all you out there that dont know how to give (constructive criticism) just keep your thoughts to yourself.

Thank you. Couldn't have said it better myself.

You should show a pic of the car that you based it off so people can see.

I did a quick Google search and it looks like police customers can spec the Durango with various rims, so far I found these photos:

They don't really look like the rims Bugs released with the model, it looks like the rims used on the first to photos wouldn't be too difficult to make if you edit the original rims on the model.

Here's a quick snapshot taken from the Durango brochure that shows all the rims available on the durr:

There's no word in the press bits I read about special rims like the ones on the Charger.

I'd go with the original rims out of the three you suggested, steel rims doesn't suit the car at all.

Just my personal opinion: the Charger rims should only be used if you think you'll get lots and lots of hate for not having any sort of steel police style rims, otherwise I strongly recommend sticking with the stock ones shown in the first picture. Just a little thing to add as well, get rid of the rap around on the pushbar. It kind of ruins the look of the car.

SCNG FTW!!

That would make sense with what the dealership told me about the wheels being custom ordered by the department. I really don't like that this is the damn week my cell phone goes through the washer; I would have loved to take photos of the truck, it looked slick.

I found this:

It looks like they powder-coated the 18 inch tech silvers black, they already come with chrome centre caps.

Maybe that's what I saw then. But I sware they told me that they were using Dodge Charger Wheels.

The next version of the Durango (An Alderney Regional Police Service Unit) will have a different set up altogether. Wheels, rambar, lighting, skin, the works.

Yeah black factory rims would look good as long as there not silver . These would look good too with 17" or 18" not 20" like in the pic.

So if I did something like this

BxBugs123 on GPM released it Christmas Eve. I've only been playing around with it for about a day or so.

Damn! I have a 20 hour computer time quota and it seems like I've missed a lot! (20 a week that is :/)

SCNG FTW!!
