When I try to install the mod I keep getting this error message.

I have tried to fix this through Break's video and nothing has changed.  I don't know if this has anything to do with me buying the game through steam or not as this has never been an issue in the past and I'm on a new pc now.  The diagnostic tool doesn't detect gta4 but I would assume that is due to the fact that it only searches for the rockstar root folder?!?  Anyways I have yet to try to run the mod but I do not think it will run because it does not install the advancedhook or dsound.dll files.  I even tried xlive and that changed nothing.  Specs are Win7 64bit, I5 3570K with Nvidia 650SC and it's a newer build so its gotta be something dumb that I'm missing here. Oh and yes I did change my root to install to the directory in steam apps/common and so on, I'm just not sure why it won't take.

Welcome to the fora! I would suggest looking at that video again. If that doesn't work: Have you unchecked the taser option during the installation of LCPDFR? 

same things happening to me, im guessing it has something to do with the crime stats being disabled...if anyone has been able to get this to work please fill me in, thanks tried everything, only thing that works in not linking to the website. bummer. hope it gets figured out. no dought in my   mind its just having problems linking due to crime stats being disabled, one way or another. 

You can just wait until the stats system is up again, should work by then. 

It's so annoying the taser doesn't work on GTA IV. It works perfectly on EFLC

It works in GTA IV perfectly for me. 

Alright so it has to do with the crime stats then?  And no I haven't disabled the taser, I will try that as well.  Thanks for the fast reply, this is my 2nd year playing the mod and the first time I actually had to sign in to use the forums for help!?!

Yeah I ran into this same issue on my first install... I found that when you dont enter your login info it works. Keep taser checked as that doesnt stop it from installing.

Please read the post above you it will answer your question, When it ask to link your LCPDFR account don't type anything just hit next. The LCPDFR script will still work but you wont have your name like it on here, I play GTA 4 and my LCPDFR name is OfficerHotStuff which dont bother me at all because i can still do the same things as to if i had my my account linked. I have the LCPDFR and a fire script in and it still works i can be a Police officer and be a FF/EMT
