Looking for a few lightbars...

Featured Replies

I decided to try making an ELS car. I'm finding some unlocked models that will work for what I want to do, but there's still a couple that I'm curious about/looking for.

I want to try doing an undercover/slicktop CVPI; Like I said, I found a few lightbar/led models that will work for what I want to do already, but one of the things that I want to do that I'm having trouble with finding models for is grille lights.

I'm thinking about adding six grill lights... two in the center and four in the corners.

I was planning on using this model for the two center lights:

And this one for the corner lights:

My questions are... would those models be something that would be used for grille lights on a real car? If not, are there any unlocked models that someone could point me towards?

And does somebody have a link to a halogen directional/warning lights bar?

I kind of rushed this post a little bit, let me know if I need to clarify something.

The first link would work fine for grille light. But the second would not work well on on A CVPI. That's my opinion.

The first would be alright for the grill, they would look better on a pushbar or the rear deck IMO. As for the second ones, those aren't really suited for a CVPI or any police car. They are used most of the time on fire trucks and ambulances. So I would recomend finding something else, there are a ton of lights on here and other sites

I'm probably showing my ignorance here with this whole modeling thing... but...

Is it ok to take apart someone elses model like that? Like, I wouldn't use the top rotator, just the arrow stick (assuming that I do use it.) Like I said, this is just going to be a slicktop... but my next one may be a non slicktop variant of this one.

I'll also keep looking for the grille lights.

If this car goes how I'm imagining it, it should be pretty cool. Hopefully I'll be satisfied with it enough to be able to release it here.

I think its one model. So yes it has to be separated. I don't know how. I gave up learning and trying ZModeler. :wallbash:   If I were a good modeler, I would be making my own models from scratch.

I meant is it an issue as far as is it morally/ethically/legally/technically right to do that to someone else's model. I'm sure actually doing it won't be an issue... provided that I can/could do it.
