Holden, A major car company in Australia that make and Sales car and car parts is shutting down and it future is up to GMC, if you didn't know one of Holden most famous make of car is the commodore, which Chevrolet buys and uses to make the Caprice. This mixed with the Ford shut down in two years is going to be very bad for the car industry

Wow, to cease business after so many years in the industry, that's tough. Tell me, are they completely going out of business in Australia, meaning they will no longer be making any new vehicles?

As far as I've heard they are stopping production and handing over to GMC, mean the Chevy Caprice might get discontinued

Toyota is the only remaining big car company left in Australia, and is slated to go under in the not too distant future. Although Holden is stopping production in Australia, it is going to be outsourcing the manufacturing process to Asian countries and importing the cars back into Australia for sale. The company itself will still be based in Australia though. It's sad to see this happening, but times are tough for everyone everywhere.

This day & age & the way the economy is it really isn't shocking, but I just kinda skimmed through the article & it does look like they were having some financial hardships.

This is way off topic, but I just noticed that you're from the same town as Sidney Crosby! lol.

Yup, unfortunately, I met his mom last winter, she just lives about 10 minutes or so from where I live & I'm not from Cole Harbour & Julien from Trailer Park Boys lives 10 minutes the other way from me.

highly doubt they are gonna stop the Chevy Caprice

esp with it being brand new and also   esp with police department's buying them up there's to much money to be made / is a gold mine right now

Look at the Crown Vic.. they were high demand and departments were buying them by the hundreds when they found out they were being put out of service & that didn't stop Ford from discontinuing them, seems like Caprice is hit or miss.. they discontinued them in the late 90's than put them back into production sometime in the last couple of years, than discontinued them again & now back at it, I also heard they did the same with the PPV Tahoe, not sure how much truth there is to that but that's what I heard anyway, I'd bet my left nut (girlfriend needs the right one) that if Crown Vic made a come back that a majority of departments in Canada & the U.S would go back to them, they were THE ultimate work horse, lots of space, fast, sounded good, can drive on almost any terrain, comfortable, they could have chose a different body style for the Caprice to be less "Sporty & Futuristic" & more "Professional like the CVPI/ FPI" When I get to a car accident scene with Police on scene I want to see professional, not some cop rollin' up in a Caprice slammed & on 22's.... but that's just me.

Since we've lost both Ford and Holden, what the hell are our police forces going to be driving? V8 Hyundai's? *shudders*

Yep! Just like London! Except, get them to have a better pattern and design on their cars... I have nothing against the Met, but....

SCNG FTW!!

Just my view but sorry Toyota's are ugly in the first place

Rather be a cop on a bike than driving a Toyota
