ELS V7 Pattern Questions

Featured Replies

So, I really haven't taken the time to really play around with the settings but, is there a way to have custom flash patterns via the ELS.ini?

The patterns are hard-coded into ELS itself.

The only way to customise a flash pattern is to edit the car model in Zmodeler and set the lights up differently, however you're still limited to the flash patterns available in ELS.

So the numbers/values in the .ini are just positioning of the lights?

Yes, I'm assuming that you're talking about this section in the car config file:

[ ENV_LIGHT_POS ]

Slicktop = off
Extra_1_X = -3.5
Extra_1_Y = 0.0
Extra_1_Z = 1.8
Extra_2_X = -0.5
Extra_2_Y = 0.0
Extra_2_Z = 1.8
Extra_3_X = 0.5
Extra_3_Y = 0.0
Extra_3_Z = 1.8
Extra_4_X = 3.5
Extra_4_Y = 0.0
Extra_4_Z = 1.8
Extra_5_X = -0.5
Extra_5_Y = 3.25
Extra_5_Z = 0.2
Extra_6_X = 0.5
Extra_6_Y = 3.25
Extra_6_Z = 0.2
Extra_7_X = -1.0
Extra_7_Y = -1.9
Extra_7_Z = 1.0
Extra_8_X = 1.03
Extra_8_Y = -1.9
Extra_8_Z = 1.0
Extra_9_X = 1.0
Extra_9_Y = -1.9
Extra_9_Z = 1.0

That defines where the environment reflections emits from (and subsequently are displayed at), the actual patterns that you can change between in-game are hardcoded into ELS.

While we're at it, can someone please explain how I change the color of the reflection?

Whenever I use my ELS lights it's just red reflections on the ground. :wallbash::wacko:

Are u using all blue? Change all the

[ ENV_LIGHT_COLORS ]
Extra_1 = red
Extra_2 = red
Extra_3 = blue
Extra_4 = blue
Extra_5 = white
Extra_6 = white
Extra_7 = amber
Extra_8 = amber
Extra_9 = amber

To all Blue, or all the red to blue.

Should fix it.

Can be found in the default_config / any .ini file for the vehicles linked to it

What about the Extras at the top of the ini.? some are one & some are off.

Go to the ELS Folder, there should be text files named Police, Noose, Polpatriot, Fbi etc, those are the ones that come separate to work differently for each vehicle, open the one you want to change, scroll down to

Extra_1 = red

Extra_2 = red

Extra_3 = blue

Extra_4 = blue

Extra_5 = white

Extra_6 = white

Extra_7 = red

Extra_8 = white

Extra_9 = blue

Change those to whatever you want.

No, I'm using red & blue only. The thing is that I have that set up as you have above, but it still has a red reflection. It's not really a big thing, it just really grinds my gear...

This?:

[ CRUISE ]

DisableAtLstg3 = off

UseExtra1 = on

UseExtra2 = off

UseExtra3 = off

UseExtra4 = on

That's for a function called cruise which allows defined extra modules to be left on steady-burn which works both when you have a ELS light stage turned on or off, the first option allows you to disable the function at stage 3.

Cruse lights will emit at lower environment intensity.

I know the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office in Florida uses a function like this on thier Liberties,I have seen something similar used by the LAPD and LASD, the Spanish police also uses steady-burns at any time during nighttime.

Hm, that's intresting. It used to be a debate if the Swedish police should patrol with lights on.

Personally I think it might be a good idea, if I don't remmember wrong, the DC MPD also uses the burn function sometimes. Saw it last time I were there (2 years ago).
