hi everyone of this community. first off let me start by saying how jealous i am i didn't stumble across this community earlier, but i'm here and thats what matters.

NOW, i realize that what i said might seem like i have a clue what i'm talking about, but i assure you i dont.

 

CAN someone please in detail here, or add me on steam (609gingersociety) on how to get everything like Buggs in that youtube video.

 

I want to be able to pull people over, get called to cases ect.

 

I have LEGIT version of gta 4 and eflc but i'm only trying to work on gta 4 first

 

i have gta IV vehicle mod installer that i'm pretty sure i know how to use (pretty simple)

 

i have openIV but i have no idea how to use it/what to do with it and i think that my problem might be there

now can someone tell me how to get my gta IV like the people in the youtube video. sorry if i seem nooby, but any information will be greatly appreciated bc this seems awesome!

For the cars, look through the download section and read the readmes. Condensed version: Unzip the files, use the vehicle installer and follow the instructions. For ELS: Read the readme, it's all in there. LCPDFR can also be located in the downloads section, it's an automatic installer. There's a bunch of tutorials available in the LCPDFR Support forum, read those if you're unsure on how to install the mod. It looks like the author of the video is using a ENB graphic mod, a bunch of those can also be found in the downloads section.

thank you so much. that lcpdfr was what i was missing big time...embarrassing bc thats the name of the website. so i installed it and everything but i think i messed something up before i installed it bc i'm getting gta iv fatal error: rc20. i have 2 car mods in, a charger and a tahoe. i dont think that they are the problem because when i get rid of them, i think the problem still persists. i put a lot of shit in my gta iv folder to get all this stuff to work. anyone know why gta iv fatal error: rc20 is coming up?

 

also, the cop cruisers in my game dont have lights on top of the cars when i think they should, i feel like its bugged. could this be the problem why my game is crashing getting this error.

i feel like i should uninstall the game and reinstall it xd

 

 

edit: also i know i installed it correctly bc i used it ingame and got to the police station and everything but than it crashed about 5 minutes into the game

Which software did you use to install the cars? RC20 occurs when the cars are 1. Corrupt 2. or too high poly. 

You can alternatively try to create a file called "commandline.txt" in your root GTA IV directory with the following content: 

-percentvidmem 100 -frameLimit 0 -nomemrestrict

You need ELS to make the ELS lights work. Are you sure you installed it properly? Which version of ELS are you using? Did you read the ELS readme?  

 

Also, I know it's easy to get excited and installing everything at once but please don't do that. You have no way of knowing which mod is causing your game to crash. My advise is to install all mods one by one.

i used gta IV vehicle mod installer. 

 

i have ELSv7. i'm 99% sure i installed it correctly and yes i read the ELS readme. 

 

and i have learned my lesson with installing everything at once, i did get to excited lol. 

 

i will try the commandline now

Try using OpenIV instead, it's more powerful and not that hard to use. 

Are you using ELS v7 R2? If not, you need to enable ELS for all vehicles. 

i'm not really sure how to use openIV

 

also i found out that IVdashcam thing was making me crash pretty much.

The vehicle mod installer isn't very stable, but you can still install car mods on SparkIV (Way more simple to use) so just look up a tutorial on how to use SparkIV :)

tried running it again without changing anything and it crashed as soon as it got me in the world

SparkIV isn't very stable imo, OpenIV is better. 

 

OP: Are you running the game as administrator?

You should launch the game from "LaunchGTAIV.exe" in your steam directory. Oh, and btw: Disable uac. 

Disabling UAC:

1. Open the start menu.

2. Type “UAC” (without quotes)

3. Pull the “slider” all the way down and accept the changes. A reboot may be required in some rare cases.

SparkIV isn't very stable imo, OpenIV is better.

 

It works fine with me, I just launch it from the RAR folder and wait a few seconds for the "SparkIV is not responding" I personally don't like the layout of OpenIV but that's just because I used SparkIV when I first learned to mod

Can you put in the backups for the vehicle models and then install the car mods again, one by one? 

i dont have the original vehicle files, can i use the GTA IV vehicle mod installer v1.2 and use the original vehicle restore method to get the original files again?

Always make backups.

I guess you could try doing that, not sure if that works though. 

 

I do have steam, but I prefer solving the issue here so other people can see it.
