Read-Only box wont unclick

Featured Replies

Hello ive been trying for past several hours trying to get read only to unclick because lcpdfr mod doesn't respond and ive tried running as admin and a lot of other things but i cant seem to find a solution please help thanks.

Sometimes the box will never uncheck no matter what you do (some strange Windows thing). If that doesn't work, try running through this guide: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/disable-user-account-control-uac-the-easy-way-on-windows-vista/

Disabling User Account Control (UAC) should enable your mods to write to your GTA IV directory without any issue. For most users that fixes most problems.

It keeps happening to me too, but you only have to uncheck it once for it to be effective it doesn't matter how much times you do it or if you restart but the only reason you should uncheck it is not to get the "Dsound Error" like in this video: http://goo.gl/HRYL8q So it could just be an issue with LCPDFR

What the above gents said.

Also, what do you mean with "lcpdfr mod doesn't respond". Is GTA IV crashing, or can't you run the installer?

Well i start the game and because i use a disk it runs and then it just goes grey and windows says GTA Iv has stopped responding i look into further problems but it does not find them :/ ill try the suggestions above hope they work
