Train Derailment In Stockholm, Sweden.

Featured Replies

Early on Tuesday morning a freight train derailed in a tunnel in southern Stockholm.
Train traffic is completely stopped out- and inbound of Stockholm central station. The delays may last for over a week. No one was hurt in the incident. It's still unclear what caused the derailment. The train involved is a ex-SJ Littera RC6. Fortunately, the train wasn't driving very fast. Images below:

well atleast no one was hurt though the fact that it will cause train delays for a week or more sounds like one giant pain in the ass, thanks for the update on it!

We've had a few in Alberta in the last 2 or 3months, but carrying Dangerous Goods. 3, I think?

This train was carrying... rotten meat. Yep. That's what we transport.

As far as I know, the train was traveling on the track closest to the tunnel wall. Just seconds before, a commuter train passed on the other track.

Note: I'll post a correction if needed.

Ok. If it didn't derail in a tunnel, they could just use a crane to stick the derailed cars back on the track, but I'm sure it's more complicated since you can't bring that kind of crane into a tunnel.
