Hello, I recently bought GTA IV for PC and I installed it with no problems at all. Then, when I launch the game, it shows a box saying "gta IV has stopped working windows is looking for a solution" and doesn't allow me to play.

You may ask me to update to latest patch (1.0.7.0 English) but if I do so, WS10 fatal error will pop up.

I looked in forums on how to fix WS10 and then TEXP70 error pops up.

What should I do? Any methods on installing with no sh*t happening in between? I mean, I BOUGHT The game and I still have to stress out about figuring out the installation. It's really irritating, please understand that I'm really pissed about having to "figure" out how to install something. They release a game, it should be quick n easy to install.

I'm using windows 7 intel 3

Please help. Thanks.

Ray

Are you running the game as administrator? What mods are you using? List them please. Can you post your computer specs? Windows 7 intel 3 does not tell me much.

You can download a software called Speccy from Piriform and post the summary here. I have a feeling what the error is, but post the specs here first.

By the way i forgot to let you know, I got a cracked version of gta 4 and got it to work. But, I couldn't patch it without any errors occurring. I'm getting specs AS soon as I can.

Hope this new info helps you find the solution. Getting specs as soon as possible.

Thanks for your replies :) really appreciate it.

That seems weird, because your computer isn't that great. To circumvent a less powerful computer, and maybe get the game up and running, create a txt file called “commandline.txt” (without quotes) in your main GTA IV installation directory. Insert the following lines:

-renderquality 0 -shadowdensity 0 -texturequality 0 -viewdistance 0 -detailquality 0 -novblank -norestrictions -width 320 -height 240 -safemode -windowed -percentvidmem 100 -minspecaudio -novsync -renderquality 0 -frameLimit 0 -nomemrestrict

Also, You xan try to disable UAC. To do this, open the start menu.

2. Type “UAC” (without quotes)
3. Pull the “slider” all the way down and accept the changes. A reboot may be required in some rare cases.
