Mod not loading

Featured Replies

I have never come across a problem like this before. It is apparent from what you say that you have C++ and .NET, and from screenshots I can clearly see dsound.dll. Everything seems to be in place.

Have you experimented also with using xlive.dll rather than dsound.dll? I'm not sure why your dot net mods are not running... You clearly have scripthookdotnet.asi....

  • Yes, the mod will unlock the islands anyway, just make sure to complete the first mission before starting.

I have used xlive before, and it didn't work either. I really have no idea what it could be. I had a pirated copy before, and it didn't work, so I went out and bought the game, and it didn't work. I figured I'd just move on, and I reinstalled the bought game recently on my new computer (this one) in hopes of it wanting to work this time around... I think it's a problem with the dotnet asi not working right. But I've installed three different ones, and right now m running the one with the lcpdfr installer. Like I said earlier, there was indeed another mod put in the dotnet folder to give it a shot, (thought it might just be fr) but sure enough, that one didn't load either. I'm totally stumped.

find yourself a scripthook compatible with 1.0.7.0(as it seems u have this version) if you want i could upload my scripthook(not taking copyright) and give it to you see if it works

I've tried a good few, I don't know where else to find anymore scripthoks. I know it works, the problem is the scripthookdotnet, since that isn't loading.

Like Centivite said (If you dont wanna do what i said in PM) Try reinstalling GTA IV & repatching it (Be sure to delete the entire GTA IV folder once its uninstalled

Yeah. There is no reason for the scripthookdotnet that comes with LCPD:FR to not work. I think he said he has already tried reinstalling though, although at this point I'm not sure what else there is to try.

I've reinstalled 13 times. I came here after time 11. I've tried it on my main game drive, a brand new drive, my C: drive and then back on my game drive.. I'm really lost as to what it is. Something is going wrong for the scripthookdotnet.asi to just not load, which blows my mind, as everything else I've placed in that's an asi loads, just not that. And it's not just the one supplied, but every one I have tried :S humph

hmm not sure what to do there man

For the record my cousin had this EXACT issue.. I figured out a fix for him, but im not sure if its considered piracy or not. I bought him a legit copy from walmart of GTA IV, his retail version for somereason (patch 1.0.7.0) could not play with mods period. I sent him my gtaiv.exe and gtaivlauncher.exe and he could begin playing with mods they started working. If your using a retail copy see if you can either buy a digital copy or get a friend to send you his 2 exe files?

Im pretty sure this is gonna get -1 or more

He and I just figured out the fix just the other day when I was playing around with his GTA IV copy

Theoretically that shouldn't work due to Windows registry incompatibilities but whatever works, I guess.

Well hopefully it would work with him as well. Registry incompatibilities? I doubt, I move files around all the time and never have issues. now if you install a game into F:\Games and then move it to C:\Games you would have issues starting it due to windows thinking its in F:\Games but simply replacing a file will not hurt anything (but I would suggest keeping the original files in a backup folder)

So you installed GTA IV on a clean system, patched it, and ran the LCPDFR installer, nothing else, right?

Yes, the mod will unlock the islands anyway, just make sure to complete the first mission before starting.

Really? The mod never unlocks islands for me? Instead i used trainer and saved.
