Serious Un-installation Trouble

Featured Replies

I have recently un-installed GTA IV but since installed it back, didn't really work too well so I deleted all the GTA IV files then when I go to uninstall it again it says this - '>

Is it because it doesn't have the files to uninstall? I've been trying all week and still haven't gotten anywhere.

Did you remove the game files prior to running the uninstaller?

Yes I did ?

Try restarting your computer

Have done ,multiple times .Even gone as far as making anew user on my PC but still scenario.

Yes I did ?

But......... why.......?

Now you have to manually remove GTA IV from the registry. Registry files should be located here (regedit.exe -> hkey_current_user -> software -> rockstar games -> Grand Theft auto IV).

Well that's new. Can you run the installer again?

How would I instaLl it ,other than just putting in the disk. Is there a way of doing it when the disk is in the PC?

It doesn't work just inserting the disk.

When you put the disk in and run setup.exe, it should give you the option to repair or remove if the game is already installed. If the game is not installed, it will install the game.

Edit: You have to go to computer and right click the disk. Then choose "Open," then run setup.exe.
