A select few people, including myself, have been looking into purchasing a 2011 Caprice. We cannot purchase a model from TurboSquid, or humster3D and still release it to you guys. If you guys know of any legitimate, high quality, 3-D models of a 2011 Chevrolet Caprice for sale, please post here.

Seems like that's the only way to get new stuff nowadays. Buy it. Then it stays locked and private forever unless somebody cracks it or whines too much or... Shit, i'm rambling here. If you find that link, let me know too eh?

That's odd.. People have  bought things off there before, including myself and converted it, they weren't asked to be withdrawn from the game and websites? /:

I think this is a great example of why people who are interested in vehicle modding need to learn how to model.  Spline modeling a Chevy Caprice would not be hard and would get you much better results then one you bought anyways.  The only downside is its quite time consuming.  I'm working on a few other scratch vehicle models or I'd probably pursue modeling one.  There may be a known modder working on this in the near future though, have to see.......

I started plane modeling one(Caprice), and it is very time consuming..

 

How would the spline modeling work? Just bridge the edges or? I haven't really played around with spline modeling.. Only to make a aero nudge bar.

I know how to model. Go check my uploads? I have 3DS Max, I just simply have no time to spend on something that time consuming, for I am in high school and college. You can go insult Azn's modeling skills also then, his Caprice was purchased.

A lot of people know how to model, not a lot know how to model well.  Keep in mind game modeling is a lot more difficult then just say modeling an accurate vehicle where poly count doesn't matter.  The caprice release is a LOT higher poly then it needs to be.  Everything I've heard leads me to believe that models purchased from Turbosquid that are used for vehicle mods are in fact a violation of their license agreement and thus cannot be used in mods.  I wouldn't be surprised if LCPDFR makes an official policy to ban these models in the future (it has been discussed before).

 

Most people learn how to box model, for those interested in spline modeling I'd point you to just some simple google searches for spline vehicle modeling.  It's a very valuable skill, but takes time and patience to be good at it.
