Featured Replies

I am looking to equip my car with some lights of some kind, was wanting to know of a good combination, headlight corner strobes, reverse light strobes, LED's in the rear window etc.

any ideas on good brands? and where I can get them?

IRL? And Is that legal? Can't you get introuble for like impersonation of a emergency worker or someshit.

Yeah, it's legal, Canada is ALOT different than the US, I want either Amber strobes, or black light strobes as we cannot have:

Red/Blue: Police

Red/White: Firetruck/ EHS

Purple: Funeral Procession

White: Police (corner strobes, takedowns)

Green: Upcoming for firetrucks and ambulance.

Take a look at StrobesNmore.com.  Thats where I got all of my emergency lights except for my Whelen Tir4s.  They have good prices and there personally made lights are very well made and reliable.  Ledoutfitters is a good one too but I prefer StrobesNmore

I think the laws a different from country to country and state to state but as far as I know most of the US/Canada the have to be yellow and can be anything, now the laws for Queensland is it must only be a dome beacon light or mini lightbar. so just check you local laws for the type and colour of lights you allowed

sadly Canada is very strict on lighting laws, I personally don't see an issue with solid blue lights, Canadian PD's use Red/Blue, but thanks Birthofahero! I think i'm gonna have to check out that site tomorrow! what would you recommend?

Yeah. I think Construction vehicles are allowed to have ambers as well.

Are you a tow truck driver IRL? I keep thinking you are for some reason.

Pretty much the only lights we are allowed to have are amber/yellow.

Yes, I am, I work for Added Touch Towing & Recovery in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

It really boils down to what you want.  If you wanna go low profile they have Led hideaways and strobe kits plus rear deck lights and visore led light bars which is what i went for.  Plus they have a pretty good warranty system set up and should have no issues shipping to you in Canada :)

From what I read, unless you are in your tow truck you really can't have them. You can not put them on a personally vehicle, the vehicle has to be doing work that would require the lights for safety. Such as working on the highway or towing a vehicle ect....

So for a EXP, I can't put them on my Chevy Malibu because I think they look cool, but however

I can put them on my Tow truck because I will be doing work with that vehicle that would need the lights for safety reasons. (This is what I found after about 15 minutes of googleing not to sure if its right or not)

Yes they are legal, like you can have a headlight strobe relay, but they are legal to a certain extent. Like of course if you are caught pulling people over, you are definitely going to run into some trouble.

Sadly some cops are worse than others; recently one of my former customers had been pulled over because the halo light rings in his headlights on his Camaro were solid blue, apparently the officer didn't like it because it was police colors.

Scotia Emergency was gonna sell me strobes AND install them, they do all the lighting for the RCMP and HRP so I think they're legal.
