GTA IV not starting up.

Featured Replies

I've got an issue here. I have a working copy of GTA IV, and it was working fine before I had LCPDFR installed. So, I installed LCPDFR, and the game doesn't even load up. So, any ideas?

Then try those:

  • Make sure you aren't using a crack - We don't support cracks
  • Update GTA IV to 1.0.7.0 (the latest version of the game, or 1.1.2.0 for EFLC) - This sometimes fixes a wide variety of issues
  • Make sure that you run the game as an administrator.
  • Make sure that your GTA IV root folder (and every subdirectory) is not set to "read-only"
  • Ensure that FirstResponse.net.dll is in the SCRIPTS folder and that AdvancedHook.dll is in the GTA IV ROOT folder.
  • Ensure that ScriptHook.dll, ScriptHookDotNet.asi and Dsound.dll OR Xlive.dll are in the GTA IV ROOT folder
  • Ensure that there is a folder titled 'LCPDFR' in the SCRIPTS folder.
  • Check that all the above files exist, if they do not, reinstall LCPDFR with the automatic installation.
  • Ensure that you are using up to date versions of every LCPDFR dependency and LCPDFR itself.
  • Install these: http://www.microsoft...9f-b21f31ab88b7http://www.microsoft...&displaylang=en
  • Run a diagnostic report (found here:  title="">http://www.lcpdfr.co...agnostics-tool/) which will point any errors it can find and will be used later on if you need to post a topic.

It stops responding after "GTA IV Detected".

Open Start Menu > type in dxdiag and click on it > give me the full name of your processor in System tab then click tab next to it and give me the name of your graphics card. Also, do you have any modifications installed at the moment?

Modification on GTA? If so, no. Lemme just find out my specs.

The processor says n/a...

The hell?

It's an intel i3 processor (I know, humiliating), and I have a nvidia GeForce GT 320.

Few people reported this kind of problem, GTA IV not launching after LCPD:FR installation and they never replied back if they fixed it. So, i'm not sure what could cause game not to start. Are you using digital or disc version of GTA IV?

I've got the same problem as Cpl Bolton... Any news about that ? Anyone knows how to fix that ?

No at the moment, because I installed everything I could remember to fix his GTA IV and still the game will not launch, so we decided that he needs to install Windows again because of having a lot of junk on his hard drive. He is going to PM me soon so we can solve that problem. Also, if you want to I can check the game files and other stuff via Teamviewer and see what is wrong with your game.
