Good GPU + HDD for 200 Euros?

Featured Replies

Does anyone knows a good GPU and HDD together for 200 euros?

Usually a higher-end Graphics card goes for 200-300.

That's my recommendation for you:

Zotac GeForce GTX 460 AMP! (Overclocked) 152 GBP

Western Digital Scorpio Blue 500 GB HDD 42 GBP

Total 194 GBP ~ 222€

That's how the 460 compares to the other High-End models from nvidia. But it's the best nvidia graphics card you can get for the money and should be able to run GTA IV on high settings without problems

Thanks, I'll look for the GTX 460 in a Dutch electronic store.

Although is this HDD good? It's 2TB and it's hella cheap. http://www.alternate.nl/html/product/Harddisks_3,5_inch_SATA/Samsung/HD204UI/471783/?articleId=471783&

That HDD looks good to me. Samsung is a good manufacturer. I'd say go for it.

I'm not quite pleased with Samsung, my previous Samsung broke :l

Oh well, imma try another Samsung.

Is this the correct GPU you were reffering too?

That's from EVGA, but also overclocked, just like the Zotac, so that seems like a good thing. And yeah it's the graphics card I was referring to, just from another manufacturer ^^

Ok thanks for your help. +1

EDIT: WAIT!

Will the GPU run with reasonable speed with a Intel Core 2 Duo Processor E8500 3,16gHZ?

Well, I have an intel core 2 duo processor and my GPU is an Asus GTS450 1GB DDR5 and it runs GTA IV on highest settings and have had no problems so far.

The GPU was 150 euros so you should get there with a 200 euros budget.

A Dualcore? If it's recent enough it will (most probably). Good clockspeed.

Why should he go with a GTS450 (which isn't high-end), if he can afford an overclocked 460 XD

It may not be high-end but it runs everything perfectly on highest settings.

Anyway, I was only making a suggestion, I didn't say that it was the newest model out there.

Why not buy a GFX card that isn't overclocked? They're charging you for something easy to do. And if you want to run things like Battlefield 3, you'd need a new CPU, and if you want to run it at highest, you'd probably need another 460.

But if you choose to get a new CPU, you'll probably need to get another motherboard aswell.

Meh, I'll pass BF3 at max.

Fair 'nuff, but I would still recommend buying a GPU that isn't overclocked, with the new drivers from nVidia, you could easily do it yourself.

Nah. Overclocked GPU, especially if theyre overclocked by manufacturers generally perform bettern than user overclocked cards (safety wise). I'd rather pay 20€ and have it overclocked properly, than do it myself, fry the card and later not even get a refund, for causing the damage myself.

Theres safety measures on the overclocking programs, so you actually can't overclock them more than they can handle, and it even goes back to default clock speed if the GPU gets too hot.

Still, you can't deny that the manufacturer overclock will be safer and in warranty. Apart from that you can always apply your little overclocking programs.
