Crashing problem

Featured Replies

So i was playing earlier, when my game decided to crash, alright not big deal I'll just restart it, well I do, it goes through all the loading all the way up to where i'm standing in the safehouse, before I can lift a finger it crashes again, any clues as to what I should do? everything I had installed on it was working perfectly along with the regular game play now nothing. I have a cd copy of the game, should i put that disc in then let it "repair" the files and start over?

it has worked previously but now crashes, did you save while on duty, or in a skin other than the main char's, or save with a modded vehicle in the parking spot?

thats it, well at least we can rule out a script being the cause. What asi loader are you using, xlive or dsound?

lol, idk what else to suggest, try running the repair, it might change all your cars and skins back to the original, your scripts will be fine as it does not check the scripts folder.

idk, its got me baffled by the fact that it was fine one minute, crashed, and now wont start gameplay, everything else loads up fine, title screen the part between the title screen and the slide show and the slide show of characters, just when it spawns me there in the safe house its just like "nope your not going to play anymore"

when i do this will i have to reinstall the LCPDFR?

Edited by lysdexis

you should not have to re-install LCPD:FR the scripts folder is not a part of the base game, nor are the asi loder and stuff so they should not be checked or removed, the only things that might change are the actual .img files.

We can just chalk it up to GTA being GTA I guess lol.

If the car mods were the last thing you installed my bets are on the Car Mods causing this issue. Possibly due to them being crash prone, that or you not installing them correctly. Then once you go in game/spawn, the game tries to load one of these corrupted cars and crashes. If you have the original vehicles.img then you can restore them and see if you still continue getting crashing without having to re-install.
