New Whelen siren - Assistance needed

Featured Replies

I'm currently trying to finish a good quality Whelen 295SL siren, but is now a bit stranded because i can't seem to get any airhorn to work without those sound glitch noises that comes when a siren tone isnt working properly. I have the same problem trying to replace the PCM23 (i think it was) with a 295SL tone and i have tried everything i could think of.

Anyone out there who are experienced with modding the GTA IV sirens who would be willing to have a look at this?

It's a real shame if this can't be finished properly, as it's quite a good sound quality siren.

Yes half the sound file sounds and then turns into the sort of banging noise. But it's not because it's too long as i've tried cutting it down to even shorter than the default sound was. It must be something else that's causing it, which is where im stuck because i can't think of what it is.

Maybe it is related to it's frequency?

I guess that could be a reason, although the sounds are the same frequency as most of the default GTA IV sounds.

The airhorn im trying to use is less than 1 second (0,20) and it's mono 32-bit float 44100Hz.

First off try making it 16-bit. If that doesn't work try importing them into a new horns file. The one your using now may just be corrupt. I've had that happen.

Also just to correct the statement from above, only the wail (siren 1) is 6-7 seconds. The rest are less. But you shouldn't be having length problems if it's less than a second.

EDIT: I'd be happy to play around with it if you'd like.

I'll try what you suggested, and if all that fails as well, i might want you to have a look, if you don't mind.
