Don't worry. One way or another this trucks being finished and released. I'm just looking for some help to speed up the process. And if you think this looks good, you're going to cry when you see what else I'm working on! It's epic. Thanks for your support though!

Hello everyone. So I've decided to use a lot of Lt. Caine's work in mine just to make things easier. Here's what it looks like:

Right now everything is broken up into different parts (brakes, doors, etc.). So now I need a little lesson on adding the textures to the model. Thanks for any help in advance.

    CURRENT WORK IN PROGRESS
04/06/2013, 16:30 - It has been decided that the ladder will be changed to the 2011 Arrow XT. I'm already hard at work on it, tell me what you think!

01/06/2013, 10:00 - I had begun working on the "ladder", and when I took a closer look at the blueprints I realized something. On the webpage it said this was a Pierce Saber® Ladder. But according to the blueprints it is a Pierce Contender® QUINT. So, The information's been updated. I haven't gotten all that far so I need to know if you guys would rather have another ladder that's not so similar to CHFDCRAB's Pierce Quint. Please let me know!

28/05/2013, 20:56 - Hello everybody! In addition to the 2000 Pierce Dash Aerial, I would also like to announce that I am working on a pack of apparatus designed for use in a city. They're going to consist of an engine, rescue, ladder, ambulance, and command vehicle. Below are pictures of the trucks being modeled along with their progress statuses.

    2011 PIERCE SABER® PUMPER
     Progress: Currently modeling body. (55%)

    2011 PIERCE SABER® NON WALK-IN RESCUE
     Progress: Body Complete.

2011 PIERCE ARROW XT 100' HEAVY DUTY LADDER
     Progress: Currently modeling body. (10%)

    2009 FORD E-450 AMBULANCE
     Progress: Touching up. (99.9%)

    2008 FORD EXPEDITION
     Progress: Body complete.

These are the exact trucks the blueprints are from; pulled directly off of the Pierce Manufacturing website. Feel free to leave feedback, ideas, suggestions and anything else. It's appreciated!

I am fairly new here and have released a couple skins for cvpi's and my attention turned thanks to WBRPDProductions. He suggested I try my hand at it and I have since decided to have a go at scratch modeling. Time consuming is an understatement (it doesn't help that I have a bit of OCD when it comes to quality). Anyway, I may be one of the summer surprises for release but thats all I will say (hopefully nobody is doing the same, as it's fairly uncommon).

Anyway, back on topic, I never thought twice about the slight variations of the same car being released en masse. I simply weed through and get what I want and leave the rest. That said, I do take issue with the really poorly done items. Really, I have come across a few that there was NO POSSIBLE WAY that the author could have thought it was even remotely good, let alone the community. I mean I can understand starting a thread and getting feedback, updating it and getting more feedback through pictures. Then finally releasing something once the feedback dictates. Maybe that should be a prerequisite for releasing something, starting a thread first.

I have a new found appreciation for the work that modelers do by actually learning to do it myself. I will say that there is no shortage of learning material and tutorials across the internet. TRUST ME!!! I have put the time in to find the answers to my questions (two answers have eluded me and I just went on my gut with quality in mind). I will say if you don't have patience and a will to do this then you might want to move along.

Let me pose this question for this thread. Does it make sense to release a bunch of (currently unavailable) unlocked parts so that there can be more variation (more availability for the 'modifiers') or would it further hurt the community to do so (potentially more garbage releases)?

Lastly, I will leave you with this quote to think about:

The truck is coming along very well. I can't wait for it to be released! I am really getting into the FD on GTA IV, as I am getting worn out on the police side of it. Thank you for your updates and keep up the good work!

I'm still looking for some clear cut help because, as you can see I have only have half of a truck. I guess you get to see a bit of a glimpse on the progress, although I only wanted to share the paper mess that is my desk.

Still hard at work, don't worry!

Also, a new ladder has been decided on so check the first post for details.
