Infinite loading screen...

Recommended Posts

Okay so I just installed GTA IV yesterday because of LCPDFR (a clean install, well sort of...). Upon my first install of LCPDFR, my game crashed on the loading screen (where it says the mission you're on). Upon the second and third (and fourth?) install i get an infinite loading screen where it says the mission you're on. I have looked at similar posts and solutions to no avail.

My Specs:

Intel i5 3570k 3.4ghz

Radeon HD 7950 3gb (slightly overclocked)

8Gb RAM

Mods i have installed: (this is why its sort of a clean install)

Simple trainer v6.5

ICEnhancer 2.1 Final

ELS V7

Weapons Pack w/ sounds

City Cars v1.4 (over 90 cars)

TrafficControlSystem.net.dll (taxi fix)

CarShop.net.dll

3 Alternate cop cars

Alternate Car Sounds

Alternate Car Names

Everything obviously worked before i got LCPD:FR

Also the G17 Diagnostics tool says GTA IV not found.

ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Edit: Almost forgot.

Game Version: 1.0.7.0

Scripthook Version: 0.5.1.0

Try to remove ELS7 and test again.

Can you post a report with diagnostic tool or not ?

Is your game a legit copy or a pirated copy ?

Did you buy it from Steam ? Where is located your installation folder ?

Never mind i fixed it somehow. I just reinstalled and ran as administrator and it worked.

Bump. So i didn't get it to work. It worked twice out of like 15 tries/re-installs. Usuallly it gives me an infinite loading screen, sometimes it crashes.

I tried getting rid of ELS and it did not make a difference.

Edit: In answer to some questions, I cant post the diagnostics because like i said the tool just says it cant find GTA IV.

It's a Legit copy not through steam.

Its located in C:Program Files (x86)Rockstar GamesGrand Theft Auto IVGrand Theft Auto IV

Did you try to put the content of game folder into C:Program Files (x86)Rockstar GamesGrand Theft Auto IV and removing the extra Grand Theft Auto IV folder ?

Because it's why diagnostic tool can't find the game, the path is wrong.

And when you try on a clean install, do it on a real clean install, without any mods, even a car or enb, nothing modified at all.

Well i might just go get a torrent of EFLC because i heard it runs better on that (more stable).

And its not very unethical because i have already bought GTA IV and GTA IV complete edition on PS3 and now GTA IV on PC. I refuse to give R* any more money until GTA V.

Thats no fun tho. If i cant have modified cars or even a trainer, its not worth it to me.

Oh and no because i didn't feel like waiting to copy it and delete it just for one folder. (theres no way to just delete an exterior folder without deleting everything inside.)

Pirated copies won't work with LCPDFR (and we won't give support for them).

About the real clean install, it's just to test.

And, so, did you try what I said about putting files in correct path ?

I dont see how LCPDFR would be able to tell that its a pirated copy if R* cant tell.

I might try the clean install.

And no (see edit)

Do it, it just take a few minutes. And you'll have a correct path after that.

Can you post a screenshot of the game folder (the entire window, to check the path too) ?

Wait see there it is again. I have another GTA IV folder inside the GTA IV folder which seems to be the true folder (mods will work in the second folder, not the first)

It was different before tho, it was just a GTA IV folder inside another. Now its a GTA IV folder inside another ALONG with everything else!? I give up. This is retarded.

Maybe i will just do an entirely new install. Last time i didnt actually to a clean install, i used a backup of the original game contents (the whole game) which is the same as a clean install, but screw it. Im  doing a completely fresh install. I will install LCPDFR first and let you know.

Yeah that's the best thing to do I guess, as I said a real clean install without any mod except of LCPDFR.

And don't forget to :

- check that the game path is correct

- untick read-only on game folder

- run lcpdfr installer as admin

- choose only one of the asi loaders, dsound or xlive (dsound recommended)

- don't install tazer, sometimes it causes problems

Oh and before reinstalling GTA, remove everything in Rockstar Games folder.
