[TUT] How to Properly Spawn Bodyguards with SNT

Featured Replies

I think we all have been annoyed at some point when trying to spawn a bodyguard with SNT with certain weapon and it spawning instead with the Mp5:

As you can see, most of the bodyguards have the mp5, even when I selected other weapons them to have.

Well, here is an explanation that will show you how to basically spawn the bodyguards correctly, with the weapon you choose avoiding it to change automatically and, in case of playing as an officer, to act in a more realistic way avoiding the drive by shootings.

Before starting, here (in the spoiler) are some of the options there are in the Bodyguard/Ped Spawn menu of SNT. In red are marked the ones that we will use in this tutorial. In green, the optional ones.

Select Model, increase/decrease using num 6 or num 4 ------> Select the ped model you want.

Select Weapon, increase/decrease using num 6 or 4     ------> Select the weapon you want the ped carry.

Select Task, increase/decrease using num 6 or num 4  ------> Select the task you want the ped do.

Set Drive options

Godmode, change using num 5  --------------------------------> Optional, if you want your bodyguard to never be killed.

Bodyguard Driveby Weapon, change using num 5      -----> Important, it will be explained in the tutorial.

Set Health, increase/decrease using num 6 or num 4 -----> Adds an amount of health to the bodyguard.

Add Blip change using 5

Enable/Disable Dead Peds Drop Weapon

Set Money, increase/decrease using num 5 or num 4 -----> there can be selected an amount of money your bodyguards drop when they die.

Spawn Bodyguard -----> the most important option, it spawns the bodyguard you’ve selected or the default one.

[...]

Spawn Random Bodyguard -----> it spawns as bodyguard a model of ped of the area the player is.

[...]

Bodyguard/Ped Clothes Menu (last spawned) ---------> there you can customize the player model.

Bodyguard/Ped Speech Menu (last spawned)

Bodyguard/Ped Voice Menu (last spawned) ------------> it allows to change the bodyguard voice.

Bodyguard/Ped Walk Style Menu (last spawned) -----> changes the walk style. It can be useful in order to spawn SWAT bodyguards (by default they walk crouched).

[...]

All Bodyguards/Peds Leave ------> in the case you’re tired of the bodyguards or they get killed, this option deletes them.

Let's start! open SNT (F3) and select (num 5) the Bodyguard/Ped Spawn menu:

1. Select the ped you want as bodyguard. The task you want them to do (combat) and optional things such as the clothes, health or god mode, etc.

2. Choose which weapon you want your bodyguard to use. Although the M4 comes as default, the peds usually spawn involuntary with the mp5k. Continue reading in order to solve this problem.

3. Disable "Bodyguard Driveby Weapon". For now on, the peds will spawn with the weapon you've chosen and won't change automatically to the mp5.

Note: unselecting this the bodyguards won't shoot from the car. Be advised in the case you want to play a wilder and madder type of gameplay where the bodyguards shoot from your car...

4. Press Spawn Bodyguard to finish.

- If you enable the option "Bodyguard Driveby Weapon" again, the next peds you spawn, unlike the ones already spawned will shoot from cars, but will also change their weapons to the mp5 automaticaly.

Now, after following these simple steps, each bodyguard has a different custom selected weapon that doesn't automatically change to the MP5. Kick it, Niko!

* Note2: in the case you’re running LCPD:FR, it's recommended to turn off SNT so they don't interfere. For that, select "Disable Trainer" in the second page of the Options menu. In order to enable it again, press R.ctrl+R.alt+E.

I'd add that SNT doesn't have to be disabled in order to work with LCPDFR. Only the keybindings have to be disabled.

Isn't it easier and faster just to enable and disable the trainer than messing with the keys?

Btw, can this tutorial be moved to the tutorials section, please? Thank you in advance.

I personally prefer to keep SNT running in the background rather than killing it completely, but it depends on the person.  I find it more useful to press F4 and pick up where I left off in the menus rather than having to reactivate it and navigate back.

In the long run it doesn't matter which way it's done, both methods achieve the same outcome.

SNT does conflict with ELS express mode, though (the backspace key is mapped to SNT even if keybindings are disabled, because it's used in menu navigation), so you'd have to change the ELS express mode key if you use SNT.

I'm on European keyboard so I use 0 as option to turn it on (also Alt is needed) because TKDS & CRSL or how you call them are used by ' & ì, which are in middle of those 2 keys xD

I'm using an European keyboard too, it's Alt GR + Right Control + E. It doesn't interfere with any other key, if that's what you mean.

No sorry, I was referring to cp702's post, on how to turn on Express Mode :)
