Well, 6GB is plenty for GTA.  900MB of VRAM (video memory) isn't all that good though.  How many cars have you modded?  It's possible that your modded cars are consuming a lot of memory, and then it is made worse with ELS.  You can try leaving the basic police cars (police and police2 [cruiser and patrol]) unaltered, and then you can try modding either the FBI Buffalo or the Noose cruiser, and then seeing if that helps.

In all likelihood, your laptop doesn't have it's own graphics card, which is probably causing this problem. Before anybody argues that the AMD laptops always have graphics cards,  I'll remind them that the A10 is an 'APU', not a CPU. It has its own graphics core built in, but no actual dedicated memory. On occasion laptops will have both a dedicated Radeon card, and an APU, but it's rare, since it undermines the purpose of an APU and the whole reason AMD developed it.
