like my title says, ive been at this for 4 days. trying to rectify this myself using all search functions here and in google, even some youtube videos.

 

so far, from what i know, and what the LCPDFR diagnostics tool has told me, that i've done everything correct, and everything should be working for me to use the LCPDFR mods. But I can't. When i load up GTAIV, and hit ALT+P, my screen just goes fuzzy. I'm not running any other mods, unless you count adding new cars into the game, but even before adding the new cars, it did the same thing. I even followed the directions prior to clicking "community help" and still, same thing. Fuzzy screen when hitting ALT+P. So I'm hoping someone can give me some insight and/or suggestions as to how to fix this so i can enjoy the awesome LCPDFR side to GTAIV.

 

Please note, I had LCPDFR loaded and it WORKED once before, but when i added ELS, and a few police cars using SparkIV, i must had done something wrong cause when i loaded LCPDFR in GTA, it crashed and said i didnt have enough Video Memory, maybe my system cant handle ELS?

 

I system restored, freshly installed and now, i cant get it to work.

 

I am using a Windows 8 Desktop, actually just purchased it 2 weeks ago now.

The fuzzy look after hitting Alt+p is the definition setting hotkey.  Just hit P again and it will go back to fine definition setting.

 

Maybe the latest scripthook and if you don't play MP, switch to Xlive.dll.  

 

Also, high-poly ELS car mods in the police and police2-4 slots can cause severe issues for some as those cop cars spawn the most often and can hit your system like a ton of bricks.  use only low.mid-poly non-els cars in those slots if your having crashing issues.

 

NOTE:  Only add one mod at a time, then play the game for awhile to make sure there are no conflicts with the mod.  If you add 10-mods at the same time, how the heck would you know what mod is screwing the game up?

yeah i hit it again and it goes back to being sharp. i havent figured out how to play multiplayer yet, but ill definitely try that, thanks!

 

yeah the police cars ive inserted are Non-ELS, theyre hard to find! the only mod ive added again, has only been LCPDFR unless youre counting adding new cars to the game. ill give it a go and see if i can get it going again. should i try redownloading from here, and reinstalling?

so i tried it with xlive.dll, and still not usable. which saddens me cause i got it working before!

im thinking of doing another system restore and freshly installing GTA IV again, i just dred all the hoops i have to jump thru to make this game work on my win8 PC.

Windows 8 might make it harder, as it was GTA IV was not made for Win 7.

 

xlive.dll does not allow you to play MP.

 

You might want to try using command lines to kick GTA in the ass, if I remember rightly it does not allow any vid memory above a certain amount unless you specify it in a command line.

well, still, here i sit, unable to enjoy LCPDFR, ive still not found a solution to whatever issue it is that is not letting me play the game. ive done the whole thing over and over again and im almost about to give up. ive used the diagnostic tool and everything is checked in green, but when i get into game, i hit ALT+P and nothing but fuzziness....

 

lol should i just give up now? i want to uninstall and reinstall the game all together, im just affraid of NOT being able to run the game cause of some stupid technicality.

Can you post your scripthook txt.  Just open and copy/past the whole scripthook text and maybe that will shed some light on what's happening.

and : trying use xlive.dll , xlive_d.dll ,and what's your Scripthookdotnet version (there is in  the next line of that dump report from G17 = "2013-05-09 14:32:12 - Initializing ScriptHookDotNet v1.7.1.4 BETA (GTA IV version 1.0.7.0)") ? i think 1.7.1.7 is the best (mine 1.7.1.4). because when i  use dsound i got same error :D and if with xlive working, try downloading a newer ver. of dsound. hope this helps. 

 

edit: and ELS gave error to me too. so my els car i dont use the siren ( ithink no matter what lcpd:fr doesnt think about your siren) and if you haven't try, dont use any mods first, then install lcpdfr with asi loader,scripthook and that thing... and try if it working. (like me :D)

i would agree with you, but like i said above, earlier, i had LCPDFR working once before. It crashed when i tried to select a police car that i added into the game.

(cause roblems : the car is mess,wrong added img. and just try the preadded car (normal one) and see if it work. if it work, than your car mod is a mess :D)

 

 

 

oh man, ive done gone and got rid of all that, i system restored and freshly installed the game to work since that incident. i remember when i started the game, and activated LCPDFR, i went outside nikos russian apt, ran down the road to the nearest police station and there was no car in front of around the corner from it, and no traffic, i felt that it was odd, so i tried to spawn a car using the trainer. and NO car would spawn, at that time i had only added new police cars. and when it came time to select a police car, it crashed. like i said, after that, i system restored, and freshly installed the game.

just a little question : I system restored, freshly installed and now, i cant get it to work -> what is the  problem ? (i mean what they say like "GTAIV Fatal ERROR : Unrecoverable Fault" or.... "GTAIV is not responding" or... what?) i think after you reinstalled it there must be something goes wrong :D
