Well, I took the plunge and bought a 2003 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor today with MINIMAL issues and she roars then the tranny went :*(, all it needs is a new tranny and a new starter, my question is,

 

well, I have been looking ALL damn day for a used tranny but I can't find one, so, I was wondering do I NEED  a 2003 transmission for an 2003 or can I go let's say to a 2004 or 2001 or 2002? I was just talking to a guy that will sell his transmission which is a 2004 but is NOT CVPI tranny, and what year of a starter can I use for my 2003?

You can use a 2001-2003 tranny. anything older or newer will not fit. good luck

Perhaps, but nothing is open as it is sunday and most people that come on here are crown vic fans.

Congrats on the CVPI purchase though; a shame concerning the transmission and starter problems, however.
