[0.4.9 Enhanced] Constant AccessViolationException crash in WeaponSkin.From

Featured Replies

Game version: GTA V Enhanced v1.0.1013.34 (Rockstar Launcher)

LSPDFR version: 0.4.9 (compiled 13 Apr 2026)

RPH version: 1.130.1406.17682

Windows 11, no antivirus, running as admin

The game loads fine, I can switch to my character, go off duty, but the moment I go ON duty (or any weapon interaction happens — NPC damage, etc.) LSPDFR crashes with the exact same stack trace. 13 crashes total, all identical.

Stack trace:

LSPD First Response: Origin: Game fiber "LoadingSpinner".

LSPD First Response: Exception type: System.AccessViolationException

LSPD First Response: Exception message: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt.

at WeaponSkin.ZpObpXbXMUvZsTVblHrwlWXrqisc(Ped, UInt32) in WeaponSkin.cs:line 98

at WeaponSkin.FromWeapon(Ped, WeaponDescriptor) in WeaponSkin.cs:line 36

at RagePedExtension.cgmfmdCHsNrgsQZppTteDJNBuOmt(Ped) in RagePedExtension.cs:line 1839

at GamePlayer.YoZVbNTcickihGeNLiOqeciRNkdbb() in GamePlayer.cs:line 455

at DutyMenu.daLFhudMpuRVkJKYqlqAjMTrQUjc() in DutyMenu.cs:line 238

at LoadingSpinner.NRUSdJPEtlShRpBNNBVKGQJRZNaS() in LoadingSpinner.cs:line 30

at Rage.GameFiber.Main()

What I've tried (none helped):

- Fresh reinstall of LSPDFR 0.4.9 (deleted lspdfr folder, reinstalled)

- Verified game files via Rockstar Launcher

- Disabled ALL plugins (Policing Redefined, KeyMaster, ClearTheWayV, pdComp) — crash persists with zero plugins loaded

- Set Main.PreloadAllModels = false in lspdfr.ini

- Full game restart between attempts

The crash happens both from DutyMenu (LoadingSpinner fiber, as shown above) and from PlayerCharacter fiber when an NPC cop takes damage (slightly different top-of-stack: PlayerCharacter.cs:line 224 instead of DutyMenu, but same WeaponSkin:98 root).

The attached RAGEPluginHook.log was captured with a completely clean setup — no other RPH plugins in the Plugins folder, and no LSPDFR plugins in Plugins\LSPDFR. Only the base LSPDFR 0.4.9 installation is present.

Hello,

Thank you for providing as much information as possible. I had a look at your log.

Make sure you have full read/write permissions for all users in the game folder (folder properties > security tab).

Also if you have a mods folder, rename it to _mods and see if the crashing still happens.

Do you have any asi/script mods installed?

Thanks for the response.

Some additional info:

1. Permissions: Full read/write for all users confirmed — running as admin, no permission issues.

2. Mods folder: No mods folder present. The only ASI mod installed is DirectStorageFix (required for NVME — prompted by RPH itself). No ScriptHookV, no other ASI plugins. The crash log was captured with zero third-party plugins in Plugins\ and zero LSPDFR plugins in Plugins\LSPDFR\.

3. Root cause identified: The crash happens on build 9599 (the April 15 test build). Rolling back to build 9572 (April 7) completely eliminates the crash — 13 identical AccessViolationException crashes on 9599, zero on 9572 with the exact same setup.

The stack trace points to WeaponSkin.FromWeapon → WeaponSkin.ZpObpXbXMUvZsTVblHrwlWXrqisc(Ped, UInt32) at line 98, called from RagePedExtension → GamePlayer → DutyMenu/PlayerCharacter. This method reads protected memory — likely a wrong offset introduced in the 9599 update for GTA Enhanced build 1013.34.

So the issue is specifically in the 9599 test build. 9572 is stable. Hope this helps narrow it down.

Glad you found the problem. That specific build is only for if you have issues with your PD interiors, so that's why.

The test build works fine for users encountering the interior problem
