Lightbar & Pushbar disappear at distance

Featured Replies

Hi there,

I was gonna do a youtube video but noticed that one of my cars' lightbar and pushbar disappear when I walk a distance away. I believe it's a problem with the model that is causing this, because it doesn't occur on any of my other vehicles. NOTE that this is a ELS-enabled vehicle so the lightbar and pushbar are not extras. I also made a video:

But after awhile of reviewing it, I went to OpenIV and checked out the model. When I changed the 'level of detail' I noticed the lightbar and pushbar disappear on medium. So what I think is causing it, is that when I go a distance away the vehicle switches to medium detail taking off the lightbar and pushbar? Here's some pics from openiv.

Any ideas on how I can fix this? If not, does anyone have a model similar to this one (same lightbar) that I can use?

Thanks.

It requires editing the model. LODs are there so your computer doesn't explode trying to render all the cars - instead, it only shows high detail on nearby things. The only way it knows what detail matters is by what the modeler says, and so it requires a model edit to change.
