Pause menu infinitely loading

ever since this last update it seems I am having some sort of issue with the pause menu not loading.

 

Whenever i pause the game i am left with a seemingly infinite loading icon while the game tries to load the menu but never seems to work.

 

I did have an atlas map mod installed before this last update and assumed maybe it no longer worked with this last update. I removed it and that still has not fixed it.

 

Sound familiar to anyone?
