[Help] I need answer for me PC [Please]

Featured Replies

Hi, Hi, I'm new to the area, and I totally fell in love with all the mods LCPDFR, hoping to be a future Policeman,I have a Asus G210 graphics card, and I can make run gta only a minimum, so I decide to buy a GTX 650 TI  I ask this question with the config I have, I would like to have if it is compatible and that I could improve my quality of games. I have a i3 550 processor and 4 GB of ram. So I ask you the question if I buy components can adapt to my pc without problem and if I could tour the game thoroughly (I see that on youtube)

I await your response soon in hope that it will be positive :)

Your need a better processor (CPU). With an Intel Core i3 playing GTA IV isn't good. You need at least an Intel Core i5 to play GTA IV without laggs. I recommend using an Intel Core i7, then you can play the game with high graphics settings. Your graphic card is good. Your RAM might be a bit higher, like 6GB. I hope I could help you ^^

There's no difference between an i5 and an i7 really. i7's have hyperthreading and more cores (I think) but an i5 can be just as strong just depends on which model you get

Just saying.

Yeah, some i5's have 4 Core's but all the i7 have 4 Core's I think.

WAIT WAIT WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok to make things clear these are the things you will have to update. CPU you will need atleast a I3+ I would recommend an Intel I5 2500k or intel i5 3570k. Now for graphics card any card in the 500 series or 600 series will get the job done. I would reommend a Geforce GTX 660.... You will also have to get a new motherboard let me link you a few parts that can help you get started. Now this depends on what power supply do you have? Need at least a 575 watt one.... Just to let you know normally when you buy a new CPU and your upgrading you normally have to buy new RAM, new motherboard, ect....

Here is the build with an I5 (highly recommend this build)

Actually I will PM you it, forgot you can't have more then 3 links in a post....

1.) Can we put this on the correct forum at get this merged with the "Need help building your own PC" topic?

2.) An i3 is fine, but it's going to bottleneck a ridiculously powerful graphics card, and no, you won't be able to max everything out.

3.) A Core i5 and i7 are NOT basically the same thing. An i5 can either be a dual or a quad core CPU depending on the model, and often will not have the same amount of on-board cache. An i7 is the best type of consumer CPU to have, bar none.

4.) A Pentium Dual core is more or less an i3 that didn't pass spec at the factory, and has hyperthreading disabled for stability reasons, and less on-board cache. It's not for gaming, and is going to bottleneck a good graphics card. Don't waste your money.

5.) You also need to be aware of what your power supply wattage is to see if you can even power a new graphics card you might buy. But again, don't waste your money. That CPU is garbage and won't allow you to max settings anyway.

To be honest, i'm not even sure if GTA IV supports multi-core (Correct me, if i'm wrong) so you might better off going with a less amount of cores (Tri cores are useful) with a higher ghz.

Yes that's true but you don't need an i7 for gaming because games don't utilise everything an i7 gives. Just saying that an i5 will be perfect for gaming, unless you do other stuff that may utilise more than 4 cores and 6mb of cache.

To end the confusion here, these are the things you should have (in your case, I have listed the graphics cards, which is the one you are buying, processor and more):

Processor: AT LEAST Intel Core i5, nothing lower, trust me, I've tried lower.

RAM: Recommended 8GB, but higher is fine. Lower is not recommended at all.

Graphics card: The Asus Nvidia GTX 560Ti is absolutely fine, and will do you good.

unr3al's post is very useful, because if you upgrade, you will need to upgrade your power supply (possibly your motherboard). You might need to upgrade your whole PC altogether, and if that is the case, I recommend just building one again.
