Hey guys,

so since last night, my game is repeatedly crashing when I stand near to or try to enter the car I put on the FBI2 slot. I tried multiple different vehicles mods, just to make sure it's not just a dodgy mod or smth. It keeps happening. Up until this point, everything worked fine (except for the occasional LSPDFR plugin crash. But that's easily solvable by just reloading the plugin). But now the mod has become unplayable for me. It doesn't crash when I use other cars. But when, for example, SWAT reinforcements drive by in that FBI2 vehicle, my game crashes to desktop.

Rename mods to _mods, launch the game without Rage. Does that fix the FBI2 model not loading.

It does, yes. It's the vanilla FBI Granger, but I can somehow still use ELS on it lol. 

That's because the FBI2.xml is still in the ELS folder. But since it's working now, the crash is related to an issue in your mods folder. Try reverting recent changes to the FBI2 model itself or its meta files.

How do I do that? Verify gamefiles in steam? 

No via OpenIV and inside your mods folder. If you edited the model, get another one maybe. If you edited meta files, revert them back to the previous ones used before it crashed.

I just checked the meta files, and I don't even see a vehicles.meta in my mods folder. Might that be the issue?

It doesn't always come with one. Can you link the FBI2 car you installed?

I tried that one, but also a multitude of other ones. I don't think it's the models. I think I just messed something up the mod tbh

There's a readme file in the download does that tell you anything? Theres not much else you can do wrong with installing the vehicle files and the ELS xml.

Yeah, I followed the second option in that readme. Without that ModdingDLCV or whatever it's called, cuz I don't use or have, or even know that. The crash happened with a normal cop car as well now. Might have to re-install all of the vehicles maybe. Question is, where do I get the vanilla vehicles from again XD.

 

It happens especially often when I try to enter vehicles. Maybe I am in fact missing a meta file here or there, but idk.

You simply delete your mods folder and create a new one. Then copy the update folder and paste it into your mods folder.

Figured it out. I was just like... unimaginably unlucky. I downloaded 3 vehicle mods and all three seem to just be faulty. Installed a fourth one with a new vehicle meta file and it worked.
