Do you mean start writing a script or start Braveheart's FDLC Script!

 

To start Braveheart's script you have to hit F4

To write a script you need to know C# and its harder. You can write C++ Scripts but they are not as good!

People have attenpted to build FDLC mods before, and they are called FDLC mods because they are the Fire Department of Liberty City, where the game is set, so actually it does not say enough, as you did not specify Bravehearts script, you should have been talking about starting your own FDLC script.

They're the same basically when it comes to scripting for GTA. C# is more practical and easier to code with for GTA.

C++ runs faster (speed is unnoticeable in GTA scripts compared to c#) but can get messy because it doesn't take care of it's own garbage collection. 

C++ lets you do more (C# is restricted, IIRC; C++ lets you directly screw with memory). However, C++ also makes you curl up and cry after getting the 500th unexplainable error. Your call.
