after leaving the police station i get stuck and can't progress. my cop just stands there and looks around and in the log file it says critical error and to report at lcpdfr. log attached

Do you have any custom vehicles installed? I used to get stuck after leaving the station because the game could not handle the memory load, whether it was unoptimized vehicles or corrupt vehicle models.

Using the Large Address Aware tool, you can increase the RAM allocated to GTA 4, which may help with the game's memory limitations. Increasing the RAM allowed me to add more vehicles to GTA 4, including those with larger file sizes.
