Can i run GTA IV?

Recommended Posts

I called rent-a-canter to find a new computer that is running windows 7. All they had was a laptop and i didn't hear much of the specs, all i know is the following [I WILL UPDATE WHEN I FIND OUT MORE!]

CPU = 2.3ghz
Ram = 4gbz

THIS IS ALL I KNOW I WILL UPDATE WHEN I FIND OUT MORE ABOUT IT! I WILL ALSO ADD THE MODS I WILL BE USING.

So far it looks okay, but if I was you, I wouldn't get a laptop. A desktop would be a much better choice overall; more performance for the price.

I wish i could but my parents are the ones paying for it not me paying it off week by week is easier for them then buying a desktop straight out. IDK why.

Make sure it will be able to run it before you buy it. Many people buy the game, only to find out it won't run on their computer. It happens more than you might think.

But yeah, once you find out the rest of the specs, post 'em here, and we'll tell you if it's powerful enough to run the game.

try to get your parents to get you a desktop, here are some reason that could win them over...

1.) last longer

2.) works better

3.) usually is cheaper

4.) better for watching porn ( now that I think about it don't use that one)

Click that spoiler you will not be disappointed!!

Also, in terms of going down the road, a desktop tends to be cheaper.

Whenever things get outdated(which happens very often with all the next-gen shit that gets released now days) a laptop would require purchasing an all new laptop.

Whereas, with a desktop, you can just upgrade.

If your parents are tight on money, you could always get a job, do some tasks for relatives or neighbors and pitch in with the purchase. If you're tight on money, maybe do chores for your parents. Or depending on your age, get a job or find a short term resolution for cash!

If you get a laptop, its a very very risky move for GTAIV. So best of luck man!

Have you contacted any places that sell desktops and see if they can setup a payment plan?

Have you ever thought of getting an ASUS laptop? I am running an ASUS k53TA and get 45FPS with ENB an the laptop only cost $450 when I bought it outright last year. I don't know if they are available in the States, but they are pretty big in Canada. 500GB hard drive, disc drive, 3 USB 3.0 slots and a Radion HD Graphics card. You can't go wrong with it. Also, It has a 15.5 Inch display and an attached numpad.

This or a HP Pavilion Dv7.

Had it for about two years and its done well, here's a list of games it can run (that I've tested) with each setting;

 • APB Reloaded: Max Settings, 1600x900
 • ArmA II: High Settings, 1600x900
 • ArmA III Alpha (Before they optimize it): Medium / Low settings, 1600x900
 • GTA IV (Vanilla): Medium, 1600x900 | With ENB: Low
 • Need For Speed Most Wanted 2012: High, 1600x900
 • Saints Row The Third: High, 1600x900
 • Battelfield 3 Beta (Never ran the full game on it): Medium

There's tons more but I won't list them.

Specs:

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit

CPU: Intel Core i5-2410M CPU @ 2.30GHz (4 CPUs)

RAM (I'm installing more soon): 6GB

GPU: AMD Radeon 6400M

Screen Size: 17" (1600x900)

I paid around £500 for it as I mainly needed it for college work, playing games was a nice little surprize it had.

Processor: Intel i5-6600 @ 3.30GHz

GPU: MSI ARMOR GeForce GTX 1080 OC

Ram: 16GB Skylake
