Gta IV EFLC - american.gxt problem (Solved, Re-installing)

Featured Replies

Hi,

I recently attempted to install a few more car mods after fixing a bug causing my games render distance to screw up, Now a new problem is ahead of me....I can't install car mods first off and this causes another problem. bassicly GTA isnt reading american.gxt which is causing 2 things. Unable to install mods cause its detecting a missing file, and rendering gta unplayable. When i start the game there is NO text on the screen at the choose menu, Eventually freezing and crashing the game. I think the american.gxt file is corrupted or just plain unreadable. I didn't back up but is there any way to fix this WITHOUT reinstalling? Re-Install would be my VERY last resort to fix a problem with this game, but for now its just not reading the language/text file (EFLC/Common/Text/American.gxt is the one thats unreadable/Corrupted)

I think you should re install. You should always have a backup
