This may have been answered somewhere else, but I've been searching, researching and its currently 4 am where I am, I've been trying to get lcpdfr to download for me to use on my gta iv, but I am stuck on the last item needed, the games for windows redistributable, I just got my laptop yesterday, I'm burned out and I just need help. Can someone please give me the links or something, and keep in mind, I've downloaded something for games for windows live, ive done an update from rockstar games, and I am still stuck on the fricken 4th item.

I've already downloaded this among a few other items, and it still isn't helping, I got to play a little bit of my game, and I try to go into it earlier and its now saying my game is incompatible with my computer. ugh.

I've checked, this is an ACER Aspire One, its a little netbook type computer, I downloaded GTA IV, it took like 5 hours to fully download, I checked, its not available for update till I think April, I'll check to see if I can do a force update, I'll look to see if I can find a way for me to update GTA IV to work with my computer, and than look to figure out how to get lcpdfr to fully complete its little list and see what else I need to get it to work. I've watched all the videos of people having fun with this on youtube, and I'd like to join the fun.

Im sorry to be the one to break this to you but...I highly doubt you will ever get gtaiv to play on that laptop. simply because it does not have good specs. for example. the atom processor that it has is kinda slow. Correct me if I'm wrong but the graphics is based on either the ram or the processor. can't remember. I just know it is not a good laptop to run the game on and probably does not even meet the minimum requirements. If you do ever get the graphics to show up, the game will probably be unbearably slow because of the processor.

But if you still want to try, have you downloaded this?

I've already downloaded Games for Windows Live and Rockstar Social Club..

And this is what is on my computer:

CPU: AMDC-70 APU w/ Radeon HD Graphics 1.00 GHz

          Turbo CORE Technology

Memory: 2 GB DDR3 Memory

Storage: 320 GB HDD

64-bit Operating System, x64-based processor

I looked at my game, I need a computer that has:

16GB Free Hard Drive Space

256MB ATI X1900

AMD Athlon X2 64 2.4 GHz

I just downloaded it, and it still isn't working, I'm need to know everything I need to have for me to play GTA IV, I'm gona need to see if anything I need costs, and I'll begin to save the money to get it. I didn't spend about $15 to get this game for it to not work, I talked to quite a few computer savvy people and they said it would work.

Sorry, but it's not going to run. You'll need a lot of upgrades for your computer, or a new computer entirely. If you need help building a new one, you can use this topic:

This is a new computer, it was still in the box and had all the little tape like protection pieces on it, and I'll look at that link.

I'm also waiting on a tower from a friend, I'm trying to get ahold of him to see what all specs and stuff on it.

Jet, as stated before, the Acer Aspire One laptop just doesn't pack the punch it needs to run GTA:IV, which is processor intensive since it was never optimized by Rockstar.  When you get the tower specs from your friend, let us know what they are and we can further guide you. If you're going to be buying a pc for gaming, my recommendation is that you check with us to see if the desktop's/laptop's specs are good enough to run the game before you actually go out and spend your hard earned money. At least thats what I did.

He says the tower has:

AMD Athlon (am) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4200+2.19 GHz, 960MB Ram

and looking at the link you gave me, that tower does not have the requirements needed. I guess spent the $15 on gta iv for nothing. I can't play it on any computer in my house.

You're going to need more RAM, but the processor is okay, if you're okay playing on lower settings. That link I gave you up above only lists the most powerful hardware currently on the market. I probably shouldn't have linked you to it, since I didn't see that it was limited to the most advanced hardware. This topic should help you: http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=446714

Also, here's a list of the limited, and the recommended specifications for GTA IV: http://www.gta4.net/news/4135/recommended-pc-specifications-for-gta-4/

I agree with Original Light, Your processor is should be able to run it on low. I suggest maybe getting at least 4gb of ram, you might be able to get away with 2gb. I don't really know since all my systems have had at least 4gb's.

Jet, do you know the type of graphics it has? just wondering..will you be using the motherboards built in graphics or a dedicated card.

He is talking about getting a new hard drive and adding more 6gb of ram... basic graphics, and using the mother board built in graphics...
