Suggestions for POV lights?

Featured Replies

Next year, around this time, Im gonna be buying a 2013 Toyota Tacoma, and since im a firefighter, I need blue lights to put on it. Heres what I was thinking so far, but some suggestions would be cool. I cant have a siren because PA doesnt allow them.

STL K-force 36" mini lightbar

STL G-4 grille lights

STL Sleek 6 traffic advisor

STL Pent 5 (for controls)

Either a Grover or Carson air horn

Front headlight and rear tail light strobes

OR

Instead of the lightbar:

Some sort of stick located in the bottom gap (below the grille)

And the same or different sticks mounted at the bottom of the grille

^^ Need suggestions for those

I'd like to spend under $2000 total, so nothing insane...

Give me suggestions for more/different lights! (must be available in blue)

I just bought a Whelen Dual Avenger for my POV. Highly recommended. Probably the brightest dashlight I've ever had and or seen. Also, if you looking for lightbars, elightbars.org has some really nice

A State Trooper can't do anything more than any other county or township police officer would do. Unless you are running colors that are illegal, or illegally placed ( Example: Blue/Red in the front)

You could have a whelen inner edge

I really dont know why, but I hate Inner Edges. They just look weird to me...

You could  buy 2 K-force 36" mini lightbars and put them at slight angle. Something like that

I could, but thats $800 right there... I was also looking at the Federal Signal Vision SLR

I prefer and love the whelen liberty's but they are very expensive.

it would, until someone catches you...

yeahhhh. Pretty sure thats a hefty fine haha

yeah, couldn't you get your lighting license taken away?

oh, definitely... Plus id get my blue lights taken away. Which is why im not gonna do it. Plus, the cops around me dont give a shit if blue lighters run red lights or shit like that, considered half of my company is cops.

yeah, the cops in my town would not do anything if you were responding with a siren (is illegal in NJ)

Also, if you looking for lightbars, elightbars.org has some really nice prices on used lightbars. Also, www.cpsauthority.com has amazing lights for low prices and are just as bright if not brighter than Whelen. Just throught I'd throw my 2 sense in.

Before I suggest anything, make sure your 100% positive about the lights you can put on your truck. I know around here they only allow them in the grill and no where else. Being caught with lights in the wrong place can get you arrested and your vehicle auction off or destroyed!  Another thing know your limits on what you can do with the lights, once again around here you can't go through red lights and you can only go 10 over the speed limit. When responding to a fire call and what not. Anyways... I would just go with one of these http://www.extremetacticaldynamics.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=126&osCsid=tra9mmk2apj62ve8602l98spo0 or get some grill lights and dash lights and maybe some mirror lights if you want....

Also last thing i'm pretty sure you need to be 18 years of age to be able to do that..... Most fire department policy's {actually I think its a nation thing} is that you need to be 18 years of age to be able to do what you want to do...

^^ uummm i think not

around montgomery county policy is that as long as you have atleast a driving permit your allowed to operate company equipment, ie firetrucks, ambulances and tillers with proper training, as far as pov lighting i'm pretty sure that vary's state to state but one thing that im sure of is if your allowed to be on vol company then your allowed to do most if not everything regardless of age.
